I had gotten this as a throwaway item for reasons that I would rather not explain, but so far it has been really nice. I did make some modifications to it. The strings were too long. There as no reason that the strings needed o be an extra 6" longer that needed. So I shortened those because they were annoying the heck out of me. So it comes as a basic fleece hood, But there is a little card that explains how you can turn it into the various things that it says it does. So that was pretty cool. It is thicker than I was anticipating so just be aware of that. I do like how it sort of sticks to your head so it moves with your head when you are looking around. So for I have only used it in its Balaclava set up so I can't really speak to any of the other set ups but so far it has been nice.Very handy considering it was meant to be something that I bought and gave away.

I'm delighted with this product. I'm a transplant from CA to KS and right about now it's incredibly cold here in comparison. I've been using this in the wind and cold while riding my pedelec trike and, layered in with the other items of clothing, it is providing a much needed part of the arsenal to brave the Kansas cold. The color is quite visible to motorists and I've gotten a few stares. Good, they're paying attention. This is a college town as well so non-traditional is okay. Really glad I bought it. I'd encourage you to keep the little 4 x 6 inch card that comes with it so you can see how to transform it into the different useages. I've studied mine as it has needed a little getting used to. That comes with a little practice. It's quite practical though and I've thought about getting one in a less alarming color for when I just want to be warm. Hmmm,... I bet they could be layered too with the orange one on top; might have to try that if I buy a second one. Stay warm out there.

Shopping while you're cold is kind of like shopping when you're hungry. I saw this and thought "I bet I'll look really stupid with a gimmicky fleece tube pulled over my head, but ooh, warm." Well I got it (in black) and it's surprisingly normal-looking and functional. I have worn it as a hood, basically. The part that lifts up to shield your neck/chin is good on a cold day. The drawstrings worked well to tighten up the hood. The fleece is a good medium weight, not too thin, not too bulky. I haven't worn it full ninja style and I have my suspicions it doesn't make a great beanie or tote bag, but honestly, as a hood it is quite nice. It just looks like you're wearing a hoodie under your jacket.It fits me well. I am a woman with a normal sized head, or so I presume because most one-size-fits-all hats fit me and in S/M/L large hats I'm a M.

This thing bulks around the neck and is not a good hoodie. It also messes up my hair when putting it on. A zip up front would have been nice. It's a good concept but look elsewhere if you are looking for a nice warm head and the retention of your hairstyle.

I admit - seeing the videos and stuff of this 6-in-1 thing on youtube was cool but I'm skeptical of infomercial like stuff. However, I take the CTA (Chicago's bus and subway system) to work everyday with a transfer in-between. Thus, I deal with a 5-10min layover at a bus stop with nothing more than a overhang for the rain. Our wind chills often hit around 5 degrees F or lower, which is not fun.First, definitely go to youtube and look at the video when you get this thing. Yes, it comes with directions and pictures, but it still is oddly complicated to a newbie. Once you get to using it properly, you'll love it. Since I've started wearing this thing on the cold days, my neck, ear, head, and face area has not felt cold at all! It really does work and insulates well. When you have the whole thing on, you do look like a bad mofo, but it's so freaking warm it doesn't matter! However, given my big head, it does mess up my hair like winter hat, and pulling the hood up and down really doesn't work well with the small front cutout. My wife can use it just fine - so the one-size-fits-all is a little misleading. Still, it's not like it's tight on my head - just snug. As far as the 6-in-1 thing....ignore it. Yea you can do 6 cut lil things with it - but realistically that's not going to happen. Just take it as a super warm hoodie/face mask combo that'll get the job done.The GOOD:-Really is VERY warm and stops the majority of the wind & cold-Flexible - just cover ears and down to keep the hair styling, or bundle up completely when function is more important than looks-It's awesome not to drag around a scarf, hat, and face mask anymore. This thing rolls up into my bag for small storage.The BAD:-6-in-1 aspect just a silly marketing ploy-Not water proof, which is annoying come heavy snowfallWishlist of Improvements:-Waterproof the top of the hood-Make 2 sizes so cutout for hoodie is more usable for big heads

I bought this for my 66 year old husband who takes a walk everyday. This cold winter has really been the test. He says he loves it and that it really doesn't let the cold wind through. Of course, he had to have camouflage being a hunter and from the country even though he walks down the street and back.I think some of the negative review about it being short may be because of the instructions to tuck it under 8" to get the face coverage. My husband is very tall and it still hits his shoulders in back and his collar in front. If he needs more coverage, he adds a scarf, after all it is a hood. All his neighbor men friends who chat everyday say they have to have one. I started to order one from QVC but found Amazon price less than half the cost.
