Great selection of tunes!
This book is a lot of fun. The tunes are very diverse and enjoyable. They use only the notes of the C major scale in one octave, though not all the tunes are in the key of C. It's a great way to start reading music because you only have eight notes to deal with.

Very comprehensive!
Who knew you could play that many songs on a 4 hole harmonica! Songs from just about any country you can think of. Plenty of familiar ones though!

As complete as the range limitations of the instrument will allow
Just about as complete as the range limitations of the instrument itself will allow.

Excellent pour moi
Étant débutant avec un Marine Band Classique, je trouve les morceaux très accessibles (gamme majeure) d'univers variés (y compris asiatiques). Notation standard avec tablatures en-dessous. De surcroit d'un prix très abordable.

For sharing
I don't even have a four-hole harmonica; but I've had so much fun with Pat Missin's anthologies of Harmonic Minor tuning airs that I decided to give his miniature harmonica book a whirl for when I wanted something to play on my standard tuning harps that left the learning curve relatively easy. (Since these tunes all live inside a single octave they are equally playable on Richter tuned or Solo tuned harmonicas, you just choose the octave you like best). The book had more delights, and more surprises, even than I expected. I never realised how much you can do in one octave: from Morris dance rounds (Seventeenth of May) to Scottish fiddle jigs (Stool of Repentance) to modal East African whoops (Kwaheri). Every tune clearly laid out in an easy and clear typeface, and a full alphabetical index in the back for the tunes you half forget but need to find again urgently. The other unexpected bonus was that these are the sort of tunes you want to share with your grandchildren, and your grandchildren want to share with you just as much.Get this book if you can play mouthorgan and have grandchildren; it might be a good idea to get the grandchildren their own mouthorgans so they can join in.Or if you have a grandparent, get this book and teach them to play. It's a wonderful book for sharing.

A great compilation
If you play the miniature harmonica, the ocarina, the mountain dulcimer, or any other instrument tuned to a major scale with a similarly limited range, you need this book. Pat Missin did an excellent job of compiling tunes from around the world that all happen to fit within a single 8-note major scale yet vary greatly in complexity and purpose: among the tunes included are children's songs, simple folk songs, dance music, Christmas carols, and classical pieces. Every tune is listed in alphabetical order, and noted with each are its key (since not all are played in C Major on the miniature harmonica), country of origin or composer's name if known, and English translation of its title when applicable. Even if you never play all 365 tunes featured, you won't regret buying this book. While the harmonica tabs provided for each tune take up space, they're easy enough to ignore if you don't need them.Note that none of the tunes included in this book have had notes changed to fit the range of the miniature harmonica, but some of them are missing parts: "Jingle Bells", for example, is missing its verse melody since only the chorus melody fits within the instrument's range. That said, the author also includes tips on how you could modify tunes to fit your instrument's range should you want or need to.

A welcome addition to books on the miniature harmonica...
Professional musician, teacher, designer, professional harmonica player and expert Pat Missin has published a great new book for the miniature harmonica aka the " 1 inch harmonica" or " 4-hole harmonica". This book is a welcome addition to books on the miniature harmonica. Many of the previously published books on this subject ( The One-Inch / Four Hole Mini-Harp by Alan "Blackie" Schackner, My Favorite Songs for Starlet by Cham-Ber Huang, The Miniature Harmonica by Zach M. Arnold etc., etc. ) are now out of print and very difficult to find - not to mention expensive. This book from Pat Missin offers an affordable alternative. Jam-packed with 365 tunes from all around the world, this book is an excellent aid to the mini harmonica player. The book is beautifully laid out with easy to follow helpful tips on how to get the best out of your mini harp. The 365 tunes are all there with the 4-hole harmonica tabs and, if you like, you can use the same tabs to play the 365 tunes on a standard 10-hole diatonic harmonica!! Pat tells you how. The 365 tunes in mp3 format are also available totally free and for immediate download from Pat's website - full details on this in Pat's brilliant book!A great book for both the 4-hole and 10-hole harmonica!!Excellent!! 4 Hole Mini Harmonica in C4 Hole Mini Harmonica in C
