Inexpensive but excekllent!
This inexpensive, functional & well fitting AFO brace turned out to be near perfect for my drop foot accompanied by a weak ankle. In addition to supporting my drop foot, it also provides support for my ankle that's NOW NO LONGER prone to twist. I would not have believed it after trying numerous others (including an $800+ carbon fiber brace). Other buyer comments about this particular brace is difficulty of fitting/comfort. I believe that's because buyers do not realize that the bottom piece should be placed UNDER the shoe's insole. This issue could be easily solved if the manufacturer included instructions/guidelines, which they unfortunately DON'T.

Foot plate a problem
I keep hoping that I will find a light brace that will help with my drop foot and neuropathy. I only had to take one look and know that this brace was not going to help. Why?1. The very, very narrow plate for the bottom of the foot will cut into the sides of wide and/or swollen feet.2. The brace arrived with no instructions except for the lines on the bottom of the toe for cutting.3. Cutting will not be easy without heavy scissors or clippers and, after cutting the edges will have to be sanded to avoid cuts when worn.4. The bottom plate is smooth, hard plastic. It slides in socks, on carpet...it slides.5. The bottom strap is a loose velcro strip with a small round velcro sticky glue tab for attaching to the brace. It really doesn't do much to brace the leg and foot. It is just kind of there.Oddly, the top part brace that fits the calf is well padded and comfortable. The velcro is extra-long and it is easy to attach.I have tried a lot of braces and wraps and I could immediately see that the foot plate would be the cause of multiple problems I didn't even attempt to cut or wear it. I didn't want to end up on the floor because of the slick plate going out from under me.If this brace works for you, great. But it is not for me. Returned..

Great AFO, great price
I’m a physical therapist assistant and when insurance doesn’t provide a custom afo I recommend this one . I’ve already had 4 patients benefit in one year and even one that prefers as opposed to the custom. Easy to put on including elders and slim enough to put in normal shoes. Maybe a half shoe size up would be required from my experience. Will continue to recommend to my patients

The only problem is the rivet that holds the strap on by the ankle - it makes a sore spot on the skin like a blister. It didn't show on the pictures. Other than that the fit was good and it helps.

Make someone mobile again!!
My 88 year old mother has neuropathy and also has some never damage from her back that is causing foot drop. She has fallen several times since she cannot feel her foot and has to pick her leg up higher than a normal gait to keep from tripping on the foot. This was referred by a physical therapist. It is amazing. It is comfortable and helps her move without fear of turning her foot backwards again. Priced it from an actual ortho doctor and it was $450 out of pocket unless you are diabetic. This was inexpensive and works wonderfully. No need to special shoes or even a bigger shoe size. I did take her insole out of her tennis shoe but that was it. Recommend for anyone with these issues!!!

Design flaw????
The afo works as intended. After 6 months of daily use I noticed a crack in the carbon fiber where the ankle strap is attached. I don't pull the strap tight so I believe this is a weak spot in the design.

Wrong fit
Made your shoe difficult to get into and didn't raise my foot enough to recognize a difference.
