Easy to install, simple to use.
I have an Abode home security system. I bought 3 indoor/outdoor cameras to be used outdoors with the package, but I mistakenly assumed the Abode I/O cameras were rechargeable battery-powered cameras like the Abode doorbell camera. Nope. They have to be connected by USB-C cable to an electrical outlet. I should've read the fine print. So, I needed an extra outdoor camera and decided to buy this one after reading multiple reviews. I believe I misplaced the instruction booklet after I first opened it, but no matter. There was a QR code to scan which took me to the Vico Home app download. The app has the installation instructions, but this is pretty simple to install. The Vico Home app also guides you through pairing the camera with your Wi-Fi and set up. I cannot say enough times how much easier it was to install this camera and connect it through the app than the Abode cameras and devices were. The Abode was a giant pain in the butt to connect devices through their app. Every device was a struggle, some devices didn't work, and others wouldn't work until they had firmware updates. Even then, it was still a slow process (up to half an hour) and took 3-5 attempts (one took over 10 attempts!) before it would work. This app is highly intuitive and simple to use (MUCH, MUCH SIMPLER THAN THE ABODE APP), and I had my camera connected and running within 3 minutes. I can delete unwanted video so much easier than Abode. It has a select all feature that allows you to delete all video clips at once. This camera has an alarm, and the notification that detects motion has a simple link to click to activate the alarm without having to search through the app to do so. Or, you can set your camera's alarm to go off for 5-10-15 seconds anytime motion is detected. You can talk to & hear the other person. You can even turn on a light to illuminate a dark area to record it to view live. You can set the camera to black and white mode but it will switch to color when the light is activated. Or you can leave it in color mode all the time. I leave one camera in B&W mode because the area is dark and you can't see it very well on live view without turning on the light when it is in color mode. That said, I prefer the color mode when recording people so it doesn't wash out their faces like B&W can do. The idea is to give the police good video of a burglar's face. It's hard to do that in B&W mode. My only complaint is the speaker on the camera isn't very loud so they may not hear you clearly through the camera when you speak. I would also prefer it be 5GHz-capable since I have two 5 GHz channels and only one 2.4 GHz. But it works well regardless. Overall, this is a great camera system and I plan to buy 3 more for all 4 sides of the house. I may update this review later to report on the camera battery life. UPDATE: I bought 4 more of these cameras for my home's exterior, plus an Allweviee PTZ camera here on Amazon that uses the same Vico Home app. I'm sure all these cameras come from the same factory in China. Anyway, I now have full coverage around my house. The Vico Home app had the PTZ controls for the camera as soon as I installed it. It also allows for multiple presets, so I can make the PTZ go where I want it in one tap. Ultimately, I would like to integrate all these cameras with the Abode system, if possible. I haven't yet played around with the Abode system enough to know if I can, although I doubt these cameras will integrate. Regardless, it still alerts me to the exterior motion around my house and does it more rapidly than my Abode doorbell camera does. I can activate the camera's alarm with the quick touch of a link in the app's motion detected notification. I can activate my home alarm remotely with the push of a button if needed, and it's monitored. The process is pretty seamless in spite of this camera being on a separate app. So far, the first camera I set up still shows a full charge 12 days later. My Abode doorbell cam is down to 81% during the same time. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and I would recommend this to anyone. UPDATE 11/27/23: I'm still very satisfied with this camera. But I want anyone who reads this teview to know, the 2-way talk function is mostly useless. It's not just this camera; it's the same with most cameras I've used in my security system. The speakers are not loud enough, even on full volume, indoors or especially outdoors. If you saw a criminal on your camera and you called out to them, they likely won't hear you no matter how loudly you speak/yell into your phone. That feature is worthless. The siren is loud enough, but the speech function is not.

Great little outdoor home security camera at a great price!
So far we have enjoyed using several of these cameras. The photo quality is excellent. We have them mounted outside and they seem to work fine with the wifi coming from the modem inside our home. With the price as low as it is ($25 to $29 on Amazon), even having one of them stolen or damaged would be no great loss. I have now purchased 5 of them (now purchasing solar-charged versions where mountable in sunshine) and will get them all up and running soon. Battery-only versions seem to be going for at least a full month so far. I plan to mount a cell phone charging battery next to the non-solar cameras to extend the intervals between chargings. Being able to get an alert on our phones if someone comes in our driveway or onto our front porch has really been great! (A couple of kitties in the area have triggered the cameras too, but that provides us with a few laughs.)

Horrible customer service
Update: after this review the company emailed me and said they would refund me for the faulty camera. I replied saying that would be very much appreciated. I have not heard back from them since and it has been THREE MONTHS. So....my 1 star review and opinion of the company has NOT changed. Also, most people get a camera because they want to make sure that their property is safe. If that is why you're buying a camera, you do not want these cameras! I had seven police officers take down a criminal not even 5 ft away from my camera, and the camera shut off after 20 seconds. Therefore, the camera does absolutely no good if it's going to shut off in 20 seconds and not let you see the rest of a crime. The police asked me for the video and I got a hold of the company and they said that the camera only takes 20 second videos. ... What is the point??? So there can be criminal activity going on, the camera shuts off after 20 seconds, but the crime continues on for 5 minutes, so basically you have no proof. Look for a different company. You do not want these cameras and you especially do not want to deal with this flaky company. I bought 3 cameras and 2 of them are fine, they have a clear picture and hold a charge (somewhat) I bought solar panels so I don't have to keep climbing up to bring them in the house to charge. However, the 3rd camera is a piece of JUNK and the customer service from this company is hideous. I have emailed over and over about the fact that the 3rd camera will not hold a charge (not even with the solar panel) and at night you can not see anything out of the camera. What is the point of having a camera if the picture is so dark at night (which of course is when you need it the most) that you can not even see what is going on?? Obviously this camera is faulty and not one time in the 10-15 emails that I have sent have they given me the option to replace the faulty camera. I would go with a different company if I were going to buy cameras after this. Oh and......if you live on a busy street, your camera will be going off EVERY time a car passes!!! I have it set to low and it still goes off literally every time a car or bus passes my house. Very annoying!

Decent cameras overall but for the price pretty good.
I bought these for the few blind spots I have on my property. I didn't want to drill holes, run wires, power supplies, outlets, etc. so I figured a good battery powered rechargeable option might work. I also didn't want to spend a ton because these areas in my yard rarely see any movement outside of the occasional squirrel and such. So I thought I'd give these a try. The price is very good but my expectations were low. When I received them, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the build quality of the cameras. They are pretty solid, have some heft to them and are pretty good quality. Set up is a piece of cake and withing a few minutes I had them mounted and working. I've had them probably for around a month and have only had to charge one of them a second time outside of the initial charge when I first got them. They do tend to take a long time to charge, even with a fast charger, it took a good 8-10 hours to charge it from almost empty. Doesn't bother me, but it surprised me because my Rings take about 3-4 hours to fully charge - though they have to be recharged much more often. If I have one issue, though minor considering the cost and my intended purpose, is the interface. It isn't bad in and of itself. It's actually pretty good. But first, it doesn't work with any of the smart home apps out there - no SmartThings, Google Home, etc. So you always have to go to the separate app to view video or recordings. Again, not a huge deal, but it would make the product better. The only "complaint" I have is the constant attempt to get you to upgrade to a subscription plan. The Free service works fine but every time you open the app it tries to get you to pay for the upgraded service for $.499 a month - which isn't a lot by itself, but when added to every other subscription we consumers are now paying for - Ring, streaming, etc. - all those "only $4.99a month!" offers turn into hundreds of dollars. I don't need to pay another subscription, especially if the product doesn't integrate into the rest of my system. Thats really the only reason I gave the product 4 instead of 5 stars.

So worth the money, real value for the price!
The pics are of night vision without the light, night vision with the light, then me zooming in on the live feed. All 3 are in standard definition, I have a chance to change to HD, but SD is just fine! My husband and I are SO glad that we bought this camera! This camera is right at the top of the list when compared to all the other big name camera companies. You have sooo many options to customize your view, video quality, recording options, and more. I DO HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THE QR CODE TO DOWNLOAD THE APP THROUGH YOUR PHONE'S CAMERA, as some people have expressed issues with pairing the camera to the app. For some reason scanning the QR code is more successful than just installing the app from your app store. And the app is insanely user friendly, it walks you through the entire set up process. It took MAYBE 45 minutes from the beginning of opening my package, to setting up the app and pairing the camera, mounting it to the wall, and completing set up. It truly feels like a steal when you think about the price compared to the other companies - they even have a free option that includes GREAT storage options. You can also share your camera feed (even on the free version) with anyone else without compromising your ability to maintain control of the system - they can see recordings, live feed, talk/alarm through the app, turn the light on, and hear sounds but they cannot make changes to any settings. Just have them download the app, create an account, then THROUGH THE APP scan your QR code to add the camera - it will not work if they try to use their phone QR reader vs going through the app. I chose to do the $5/month plan ($10/month if I add unlimited, additional cameras), and that comes with 60 days free of cloud storage, plus extra alert options. I also chose to buy a micro SD card in case I didn't like the subscription prices. If you plan on going with the free version, I highly recommend buying the SD card. Night vision is PERFECT, even without the light on the camera. But the light is super bright, so if you need to see color at night, just turn that on! You can also zoom in on your LIVE FEED, how freaking neat?! I seriously cannot sing this camera's praises any harder. We can't wait to buy more cameras to add to our system!

Reliable, Easy-to-Use Security Cameras for Home Protection
These wireless indoor/outdoor security cameras are a great addition to any home security setup. The installation was quick and hassle-free—no complicated wiring, which made it easy to place them exactly where I needed. Wireless cameras are especially convenient since they offer flexible placement and simple setup compared to traditional wired systems. The video quality is clear both during the day and at night. The night vision works surprisingly well, capturing solid detail even in low light. Motion detection is responsive, and I like getting real-time alerts straight to my phone whenever there’s activity. Many modern cameras include these smart features, making it easy to monitor your home from anywhere. Another great feature is the two-way audio—it’s nice being able to speak through the camera when needed. The app is user-friendly and makes checking live footage or reviewing recordings simple and convenient. One thing to keep in mind is that a strong Wi-Fi connection is important for the best performance, especially if you’re using the cameras outdoors. Overall, these cameras offer great value with solid performance, easy setup, and reliable security features. Perfect for keeping an eye on your home, inside and out! 🔒📹

Good faith gesture
Update 6/6/2024 I wanted to post an update. I was contacted by the seller. We had messaged a few times about my unhappiness with these cameras. They said they’re gonna work on making some changes to make them better but in the meantime since it did not work out for me and I mounted them on my concrete house rather than send them back and then have all kind of work to do to fix the holes they told me just to keep the cameras and then they would refund $100. I told them I would be happy to update my review which is a total honest update. I have changed from one star to now three star because I feel that they made a good faith gesture. Original Review I now have rated a three star because I was refunded some of my out-of-pocket for these cameras and I can use them on live view only and hopefully maybe at some point if they do make changes and it’s software firmware related that I would be able to update and have cameras that would actually work as a security system. The only way I would feel like I haven’t been cheated is if I could rate this so-called security system in negative numbers. Where do I start. First I want to make sure I get this out there. Yes I’m aware that there are number of settings on the camera and I’ve tried them all so if you’re thinking, maybe this guy is an idiot and he doesn’t realize there are sensitivity settings and there are five or six other settings that will affect the triggering of these cameras. Yes, I’ve tried them. I’ve tried different field of views. I’ve tried different angles these things just do not work. When I purchased four of these things with the solar panels I figured that I couldn’t expect too much because of the price. The cameras do have a really good picture. The resolution is fine and I was overall surprised they did that. Well unfortunately that’s where everything ends. I thought that if I purchased a monthly plan that would fix the shortcomings of these cameras unfortunately it does not, and the seller admits that the cameras don’t do that well for triggering on objects that are moving linear toward the camera and that they have to be within 30 feet to trigger which they don’t the only thing my cameras trigger on and it could be 150 feet away are cars driving down the street at 50 miles an hour. I have four of these cameras and I wanted them to be able to trigger if somebody was attempting nefarious things at my home. Unfortunately the cameras will not trigger by a person unless they are about 10 feet from the camera and the seller admits this and as I stated to them, what good is the security system? To have it secure your property basically you need to have a camera 10 feet from any area that you want to be able to Secure and have a video record of somebody trying to do something they shouldn’t be doing. I’m not sure about most people, but that’s not my house. My one camera on the side I thought would be able to keep an eye on the side of my house unfortunately unless the people are trying to steal the camera itself, it doesn’t trigger. They need to be within 10 feet of the camera for it to trigger and record. And this is the same for the camera at the back of my house and in the front of my house and I even mounted one right in the driveway because we have a canopy and I mounted it right on the post and unless the person is within 10 feet of the camera and my car is more than 10 feet long so therefore They would have to be on top of the car for them to be within 10 feet from the camera before it would record and I don’t know about car thieves in the sellers neighborhood but in my neighborhood they don’t climb on top of cars to break into and steal them. But the cameras will trigger for every other reason known to man, these cameras, false trigger for everything for sun for clouds thermals all of that they will trigger, but if a grown man is 20 feet from the camera, jumping up and down and yelling and screaming, they don’t trigger. He has to be 10 feet from the camera for it to work. These are just plain junk. Now that I put holes in my house I’m not gonna take them down so the only thing they’re gonna be good for live viewing they do that well. If you need cameras just to be able to look outside of your house if for some reason you’re unable to go outside and look for yourself then these might be OK, but they certainly are not a security system unless the thieves are the ones selling them because anybody could break into my house and these cameras won’t even trigger. But if you’re looking to secure your house from clouds and shadows and thermals, because we all know how those are so dangerous to the security of our homes and our families then these would be what you should buy because they’ll trigger every time the clouds come by and they block the sun and you get shadows and when the sun heats up the house or the sheds and it causes thermals these cameras will trigger every five seconds. Just saying.

Great price, Works perfectly
Can't believe the quality for the price. This little camera is fantastic. The setup was easy, night and day images are clear, sound recording is great, live view can be a little laggy but it's on wifi, a little lag is worth not having wires. The battery is at 3 weeks and still going, it's lasted much longer than I thought it would. You need an sd card if you aren't using the subscription. The app has a lot of prompts to get you to pay for the subscription, but you can just say no.

Perfect camera for outdoor.
I’m really impressed with the MaxiViz Outdoor Security Camera! The 2K video quality is super clear during both day and night, and the color night vision makes a huge difference compared to regular black-and-white cameras. The wireless setup was quick and easy, and the battery lasts a long time without needing constant charging. I also like how the motion detection sends instant alerts to my phone, which helps me keep an eye on my home even when I’m away. The camera feels durable and works well outdoors in different weather conditions. Overall, it’s a reliable and affordable security camera with excellent picture quality and useful smart features. Highly recommended!
