3 months ago, I bought a new mattress. It was an upgrade in every way over my old mattress, except one: it exacerbated my neck pain. My best guess was that as a back sleeper, my upper body sunk into this new mattress more than the old one, which promoted unintentional neck flexion. My old pillow was thick, which craned my neck up even further. I needed a new pillow. Preferably a thin one.Over the course of 3 months, I tried and failed to find a comfortable pillow. I bought at least 10; every shape, height, stiffness, material, and price range you can think of. Some were god awful and were returned after one night. Some were ok, and got better after a break in period - but not good enough.I learned how frustrating the pillow purchasing process could be. Some of it came from sellers. Some companies advertise a "low-loft" pillow, only to give you a pillow that's at least 5-6 inches thick. That's not low. Some companies rescind the return policy the second you use the pillow. How exactly am I supposed to test this thing if I don't use it at least once?Some frustration came from my own body. Low loft pillows - in the 4-5 inch range - were too thick. Ultra low lofts - in the 3-4 inch range - were still too thick. I tried using stomach pillows - 2 inch thick - for back sleeping instead, but those felt TOO low. My body was incredibly picky. The neck pain continued.I stumbled onto this. I purchased the ultimate version, precisely because1. I thought the contour would give my neck support while giving the bulk of my head enough space to stretch out, and2. I didn't know exactly how thick the pillow was, and being able to adjust it myself would be importantI got the pillow. I took out both inserts. I used it to take a nap. I woke up, and for the first time in months, I didn't have any neck tightness or stiffness. I slept later that night, and woke up feeling just as great. I almost cried.Is this a perfect pillow? Probably not. The cooling is a gimmick that you won't notice once you throw your pillow case on it. The extra inserts are now sitting in my closet, doing nothing but taking up space. And the price is high enough to buy an entire stack of pillows for your family.But it doesn't matter, because this pillow fixed my neck pain. And because of that, it is getting 5 stars, no matter what.If you're having neck pain like me, I feel for you. I know how hard it is to get comfortable. It's based on so many factors - health, size, weight, pre-existing neck issues, current mattress firmness, personal preference - that actually getting comfortable feels impossible. This pillow worked for me, but I don't know if it'll work for you. But keep trying, because it's so worth it when you do. Good luck.

moved. When I first saw this pillow and realized it was nothing like my old memory foam pillow, I got nervous. I mean, it says it’s a contour pillow but you can touch your fingers when you squeeze the pillow with your one hand. And I have arthritis in my hand, so you can imagine how soft this is. Before my memory foam pillow, I had to use two pillows to get the height when I slept on the side. I really didn’t want to get another pillow after you got a pillow that cost over a hundred dollars.It’s been over a week since I started using this pillow. When I go to bed and turn myself to a side position, although it is not uncomfortable, I do miss the height and firmness of my old memory foam pillow. However, I’ve been waking up refreshed! I don't get a stiff neck or any discomfort, and I’m very confused by that. I mean, it’s very soft, but for some reason, it is supporting my head without a solid material like memory foam. I don’t know how this works, but it is working. And the more and more I sleep on it, the more I like it.By the way, obviously, the cat pillow case in my photo did NOT come with this pillow. I didn't have a king-size pillowcase, so I used two standard-size pillowcases, and they worked perfectly.

Best pillow ever. Super comfy

I was skeptical about this pillow with this price point but man I was shocked at the how much better you could actually make a pillow. I’ve had all types, including memory foam, shredded memory foam, down feather, down alternative and everything in between but nothing like this. Made from several layers of alternating materials, so it’s not solid memory foam and the first thing you’ll notice after opening is the size of this pillow. Fills every square inch of a king pillow case but it’s not overly cumbersome either. As soon as I opened the vacuum sealed package the pillow immediately took its shape and doesn’t compress down each night or need to be fluffed like cheaper memory foam. Now to my absolute favorite part, every time you touch this pillow, the first thing you notice is how cool it is. Combined with my sleep number sheets and mattress, this thing is always "as cool as the other side of the pillow." It has completely changed the way I sleep. Going from a combination of down feather fill and memory foam pillows stacked up to just this pillow, I can feel the difference in my level of comfortable sleep every morning. On the thick side, so I’d assume it’s meant mostly for back sleepers. Someone once told me to never cut corners on anything between you and the ground. Tires, shoes, mattresses, ground wires and I’d have to include pillows with that too. I know the price point maybe high for some but it’s absolutely worth it. I don’t think I’ll have to spend another dime on a personal pillow for years to come.

This is a very comfortable and well made pillow that offers outstanding neck support, even for side sleepers. It is quite firm, which I prefer and even though it is foam, is relatively cool to sleep on. Overall, a great value at the price point.

I tried this for a couple nights and had terrible neck pain, It was supposed to be good for all sleep positions but it didn't work for me at all.
