A supernatural take on vigilantism that, in the end, is not really about vigilantism.
So, I'm a big time Ed Brubaker/Sean Phillips fan. Their collaborations have produced some of the best graphic novel series, particularly in the noir genre. "Criminal"; "The Fadeout"; "Scene of the Crime"; etc. Even a super hero centric title like "Sleeper" becomes a dark spy thriller with a truly noir ending. Anyway, the latest installment of the series continues the high level of story-telling in the first two volumes.I'm continually impressed at how they balance the action sequences with these quiet character moments. Even more so, the whole self-aware shtick (which, unlike a lot of schlock out there trying to be cute and clever, is actually compelling and pushes narrative) where the character's comment on the diversions in action. These idiosyncratic tidbits of info are probably more intriguing than the action sequences, to be honest. Quick note: these are bloody, violent scenes with some really bravura graphic design on Phillips part.In short: A supernatural take on vigilantism that, in the end, is not really about vigilantism. It's about all sorts of things -- family relationships, mental illness, secrets, bitterness and loss. READ. NOW.

to read or... no, just read it.
You can't go wrong with a Brubaker/Phillips book and Kill or Be Killed vol. 3 continues to amaze. This is a great story and I highly recommend it.

Over in a blink
This volume felt like I read it in 5 minutes. Mind you, he does wrap back around to where the flash forward was when the story wrapped up but it felt like the climax. Dylan resolved some things with himself, with Kira, and the Russian mob.But then bam, not everything is resolved and more is left to uncover. So let's do it.

We are getting closer to the demon's secret.
The author is aware of his tangential tendencies. Still, he delivers on the mystery of the demon which seem to effect males in his family. This would include a half brother. Can't wait for volume 4.

Interesting series - but good read
Got all 4 and read them in a week - a few hours a night - while watching TV. Very different story and interesting view on a troubled life, difficult childhood, and mental struggles.

Can't wait for part 4!!!
Great storytelling, gripping plot. Is it noir? Is it supernatural? Beautifully written, gritting drawn with intermittent luscious sensual art integral in itself to the story. Perfect combination of words and pictures
