Excellent quality and simple to install
I needed to replace a broken knocker of exactly the same design, which is why I chose this one. I needed one that uses the plastic adjustable/variable length bolts. Many of the ones I looked at did not say they support this feature, but this one specifically did. It also looked like the spacing between the bolts was the same as my existing one, but I could not be 100% sure. However, once I put all the bits together and fixed it to the door, it was a perfect fit and was very easy to install. Just be careful to:- screw the plastic bolts into the knocker first- clean the area of the door where the knocker is going with alcohol cleaning fluid to make sure the knocker adheres nicely- remove the plastic backing for the sticky area- slide the bolts into place. The knocker should be flush and now stuck to the door. This means the bolts will hold it in place but you don't need to overtighten them and risk breaking them- slide the washers over the bolts- cut the bolts (on the inside of the door) so that there is enough length to go into the nuts - about 7mm should be fine. Best to make it longer. You can always cut a little more off- screw on the nuts, but DO NOT overtighten them. Do this by hand to make sure they're not overtightenedDONE!!Perfect. IF you have the bolt holes in place already of course! If you don't, you could just use the sticky adhesive plus the 2 self-tapping screws provided.I like this method as it looks good and IMO is much more secure. My previous one had lasted about 17 years. I think the plastic bolts got brittle and broke eventually, but heh.... :-)
