We have had several days this winter so far when we had to deal with subzero temperatures with the leaking of the Northern Vortex air from the Arctic. Unfortunately, even when school and work are closed in a blizzard, we still have farm animals we have to take care of, and if people need to get in the driveway we need to shovel or plow, and I also help my elderly parents so may need to leave to take care of them. I've already used these foot warmers twice when I needed to be warm for a while. I activated them, put them in my tall winter boots, and wore them when working for an hour taking care of the animals - feeding, gathering eggs, cleaning their stalls and coop. Then I also on a second occasion was outside for about an hour and half shoveling the walkways and plowing the driveways. And in both cases, they kept my feet very warm the entire time. These are great to have around for emergencies, like the times when our power has gone out during storms. Our heat is gas, but electric start, so if the power goes out we have no heat. If it were extremely cold, a source of heat that only needs air to activate can be valuable to have at home or in your car if it breaks down. So I'm very happy with these foot warmers so far, I have had no problems activating them, and they work how they should.

This order comes with 10 pairs of the heating food pads. I wear a size US 8.5 women and these fit fine in my shoe and also fit for my daughters size 7.5 shoes. One side of the heated pad is a fabric type material and the other side is more smooth and faces down in your shoes. These two heat up but it takes a good 20 minutes to start working. And I enjoy the warmth but I don’t necessarily like the way this felt in my Ugg boots. So this may be better in areas much colder than California.

I recently attended an outdoor winter festival, and these came in so handy! They definitely get very hot, and they stayed hot for the 5 hours that I used them. I actually took some and folded them up and stuck them in my zippered coat pockets, so I could warm my hands whenever I needed. As stated in the directions, they do need to be in an environment where they're not constantly exposed to air, so they probably wouldn't work in the pockets if they didn't zip up. I would definitely recommend these and would use them again whenever I know I'm going to be out in the cold.

These foot warmer inserts are amazing for cold days.We like to take hikes even when it's cold out. One of the worst parts of that is the cold feet. These inserts help keep our feet warm for a few hours even when the temps are below freezing. I'd say they are warm for the first four hours or so - after that there is a noticeable decline in heat but still better than nothing. You do need to make sure your footwear is not ventilated when using these or they will not work.They fit comfortably in my shoes and are not uncomfortable to wear even after a few hours. We also keep a pair in each vehicle in case of a break down and having to walk or sit along a road when it's cold.These would also be wonderful for sitting at outdoor sporting events, shows, etc. I will definitely purchase these in the future.

Adding anything to your shoes except for custom insoles can be extremely uncomfortable but I must say these were very comfortable. The heat was instant and kept me warm for a a while but the first feel of heat seems to leave quickly and then it becomes a subtle warmth. Still not bad but I feel it could stay hotter longer. I typically use these on a long walk when it’s cold out so I don’t get numb feet.
