Can you spot the three 6-inch diameter holes (2 in my plaster walls, 1 in ceiling) in my pic? I had about 40 of these holes left over after electricians pulled my old knob-and-tube wiring. Contractors’ estimates to patch the holes were about $3,000 - not including painting or texturing. Lucikily, I saw these online. So easy! Each patch is self-adhesive (buy for about an inch more than hole diameter). Stick it, then use a plastic caulking knife or even a spatula to cover patch w thin layer of joint compound. Repeat 2x. For the last layer I dabbed it with a sponge to match the finish of my plaster - the rougher the finish, the harder it is to match. Once dry, you can paint with no sanding or mess! It’s invisible and - unless you hit it right in the center of the patch - completely secure. You can also, easily, cut the patch to fit around outlet boxes.

I can see why others may think these are great. Although this is seems easy to stick on the wall and apply joint compound over I found a few things wrong with this. I have textured walls the patch can be overkill and makes a large area where I now have to make it look like my existing texture. Also the patch is not flush it protrudes out so now I can see the shape of it under the joint compound. To remedy this I would have to cover a large area and sand it down. That would make a huge area I would have to somehow retexture. I just prefer another method better where the patched area is smaller and flush with the wall surface. The other thing is that these are not very sticky. It fell off the wall almost immediately. I had to hold it in place and use joint compound to make it stick. That being said I found the price point good.
