Rubie's Costume Co Shoulder Holster Costume

Nicely Made
It fits a little big on my son but we expected that. He loves it. He is 6yrs old and wants to be a police officer when he grows up.

Very small. Can't adjust. Cheap flimsy looking material! Sending back for refund!
Bought two of these the other day for a 1920's Gangster Party my friends and I are having. Total waste of time and money. In the picture it looks legit. What seems to be a tall or at least average sized man wearing it. What you get is a 'one size fits all... all little people that is' cheap piece of crap that could only be worn on one side!I'm tall. Not 'obese' but definitely not a twig either. A bit of body fat but not that much. 6'2" with broad shoulders and a larger than average chest and build as well. I bought two of these so I could have prop 1911 guns under both shoulders to go with my 1920's gangster costume. But I didn't realize these are not ambidextrous and would only work on one side! But that doesn't really matter anyway since it's ridiculously small and I couldn't even use it on the one side even if I wanted to! Seriously, the part that hooks to your belt was like 8 inches away from where my belt would be on my waist! So yeah, very small people could actually wear this! Also the material looks very cheap. Small, flimsy, and covered in wrinkles from the folds all over it.So today I went to a local gun store. Bought two black soft ambidextrous nylon holsters for 36 bucks. Then I went to Walmart and bought several thin black nylon straps with the little 'snap click' things on them (in camping section for like 2 bucks each) I ran the nylon straps through the belt loops that are already sewn on each side of each holster (which was nice because I was able to set up the holsters on both my right and left side) then ran the straps over each side of neck until they each fit the way I wanted them to under each arm, while cutting off the excess parts of the straps. Then I ran another straight across around entire stomach and back and also cut off the excess parts of the straps and I gotta say that with this setup with the 1911 prop guns I bought look legit! Wish I would have just done this in the first place! As for these, a small girl can use on one side for her costume perhaps, or maybe a kid, or a really really small guy! But other than that these are pretty much worthless and they look really cheap and flimsy too. Do like I did and just make your own!I usually do not write bad reviews. But when what's shown in pictures is not at all what you get what you pay for, I lose all respect and I figure that the more people demand that makers stop doing this, the more they'll stop showing us one thing and sending us another!

Two Stars
Super cheap... band doesn't fit around a slender man's chest.

Functions Onstage
While playing a 1940s gangster type for a theater production I was using a real shoulder holster I already had but it was much too contemporary looking. I came across this one while looking for other options. It's a cheep flimsy costume piece, but it works. It holds a snub-nose revolver okay and it's easy to throw on and off during scene changes. I don't expect it'll last the years but as long as I don't rough it up too much it oughta have a few more productions left in it.
