Was skeptical to buy online, but overall, very happy with this Ubass!
I had my doubts about ordering an instrument online because I've had bad experiences from other companies in the past. I took a chance and I am so glad I did!! This Ubass is one of the finest instruments I have ever played. The craftsmanship is gorgeous, the sound quality (both plugged and unplugged) is breathtaking, and despite some reviews I've read, the electronics are holding up quite well. I would recommend this product.

Minor backplate issue
This truly is an amazing instrument, sound quality is great, the weight and shape of the ubass are both great. The only issue I have is that mine arrived with only one of the two magnetic strips on the backplate. I thought it was no big deal because of how tightly it stuck, at first anyway, but after a bit of moving and playing it now starts to fall out. It is kind of funny to me to see inspection initials on an inside sticker of a piece that is clearly missing something. Honestly a 5 star product only missing one star for quality control.

Amazing little bass
I have been wanting one of these for many years. Arrived in a nice big box safely. Took only a few minutes to tune up. Plays and sounds just like I wanted it to. LOVE IT. :-)

This is a very nice instrument
This is a great instrument. Like all instruments, you have to spend time with it to find all of its nuances. This will take some time. You need to use your ear to help intonate notes. You cannot just put a finger down and thing you will be spot on. You have to learn the correct spot. It also takes some time to get use to how you need to press down. It is not like other instruments. Good build quality and tone. As most already know, you need an amp to hear the real tone of the instrument. Would recommend it, but not for a beginner or anyone who doesn't understand the difference between fretting a note and intonating a note.

Lovely little instrument
A very small and portable acoustic bass that sounds much louder than you would think.

The Piezo is loose and the low E string is too quiet
This is a fun ukulele for beginners. However, it is billed as a "studio ukulele", and for the price I was at least expecting it to be better quality-tested. The low E string is too quiet for me to record with it. Even the tuner has trouble picking up on the low E. It's a very very expensive toy, nevermind the fact that the ebony is only a veneer, with the meat of the uke being some sort of triplay.

Great sound in a lightweight package
I have a fretless bass that I really love. But I wanted an upright bass sound and did my research on the Kala U-Bass. I purchased the one pictured and have enjoyed it immensely now. Fun to play, has the sound I was searching for. The strings do take a few weeks to fully stretch so you do tune them until they settle in. After that they tend to stay pretty much in tune. Scale length if you're already a bass player takes some getting used to but it's relatively easy. The nice thing is that it's way easier to tote this bass around and for fun gigs, you don't need to pack the heavy stuff. I went for the top of the line ebony fretted model because I only planned to buy it once. The Shadow electronics are great, love the built in tuner too.
