Confusing, but it works
UPDATE 7/28/22The unit has continued working as it is supposed to, without any issues. However, I have now had the unit for quite a while now and I need to further express my frustration with something I neglected to mention before. There are two buttons to turn on and off the light. There is a tiny one on the very top and another tiny, but slightly larger, button below that. I can click on either of the two buttons and the light will turn on or off. One isn't on and the other off. The buttons are TINY. Considering most people will use this remote more for turning on and off the light, why oh why did they make the buttons so unbelievably small? How about ONE button, large enough to find in the dark? The light on the unit shows where the fan buttons are. Doesn't it make more sense to need to know where the light button is? C'mon Minka, fix this!Original post:I bought the Minka ceiling fan/light, for which this switch was made because I didn't want to worry about trying to find the remote in the dark. I had this installed in the wall plate where the original light switch was and it was super-straightforward, 3 wires to connect.Just know a couple of things before you order this.1. Do your homework as to which of these Minka switched work with your Minka ceiling fan - they are not all interchangeable.2. Just like you will see in the battery case of the remote control, there are teeny-tiny toggle switches inside this wall unit, under the faceplate. Look at how the toggles are arranged in the remote once you have the remote working. Then arrange the toggles in the wall unit the same way as the remote, and it should work. If your remote works, but this wall switch doesn't, it might be the toggles. And if the wall switch works, but not the remote, you may need to copy the wall switch toggle positions to the remoteThe only issue I have with these fancy schmancy ceiling fans and their accessories, like this wall unit, is I think they overthink things. Why make a wall unit that acts just like a remote and does not simply provide direct power to either the light or fan, like most standard ceiling fans? All this wall switch is, is a remote control, plugged in to power. This then requires you to fumble with little toggles and having to pair the remote to the unit.Every ceiling fan with a light I've ever had before this allowed you to connect a wall switch to the fan and one to the light, easy. That said, I would then have to go to the fan and pull a chain for fan speeds and my lights weren't dimmable, so I guess I answered my own question. As a result, I have not removed any stars for my frustration regarding the technology

This is as a great find.
I bought a new fan from my he habitat for humanity and it did not have a switch. This replaced the missing one perfect.

It is **IMPERATIVE** that you buy the correct wall control model for your fan!
This wall control works great ***AS LONG AS*** you match it with the correct fan meant to operate from it.We made the mistake and purchased the WC400 control for our MinkaAire Sleek fan. This proved to be the wrong unit as the fan and light acted erratic and never worked like the remote did. I initially thought the unit was bad until I really dug-in online with the details.Although the wall control units look identical, they **DO NOT** operate properly with all MinkaAire fans. I've now seen the WC300, WC400, WC500, WC600 and a WC1000 that all look identical with little to no explanation as to which units operate which fans.I scoured the manual, the fan itself, the website...just about everywhere and didn't find any answers as to how you identify which WC unit you need. The answer ended but being stupid-easy.If your fan came with a remote, simply look at the back of the remote. It will have an RC followed by numbers. Simply buy the WC unit that has the same numbers as the RC unit. For us, it ended up being 600. You can completely ignore the model number of your fan as it will only confuse you more (our fan is a Sleek 800 series).End of story, the wall control does work great without any issues, however I do want to say SHAME on MinkaAire for offering ZERO information in the manual or on their website on how to find the correct wall control unit for your fan. I'll still give the product itself 5 stars, but the information on finding the correct unit deserves 0 stars.

Works flawlessly
This is basically a hard wired remote control so be sure to dial in the correct code. The most difficult part in setting up this device frankly, is dialing in the code because the numbers are super small and very difficult to read. Beyond that, the device is awesome.

If your wife loses the remote, you can still have full control of the light and fan...and it's easy.
This WC600 (Wall Controll = WC-600) was the perfect match for my recently acquired Minka Aire ceiling fan that came with its own remote, an RC600 (Remote Control = RC-600). The installation is easy, it was a direct replacement for the wall switch that provided the single power for both fan/light. All I had to do was match the dip switches on this with the fan's remote control (which were already matched to the receiver in the fan), and it just worked.Total time spent was well less than 20 mijutes, and if my wife hides/loses the remote again, I can still adjust the fan and dim the lights from this full function wall control.

TERRIBLE Solution but its something...MINKA PLEASE GIVE US A REAL SOLUTION
New Minka air lights dont allow you to have the option 2 wall switches. One for the fan and one for the light like the vast majority of fans. So you are forced to have this complicated wall unit that replicates all the remote control functionality is a small format. Stupid attempt at a solution...

should be included with every 6 speed fan
We have an Artemis XL5 and love it except unlike all our other fans, there's only a remote and no wall control unit. Well with this, you set the dip switches the same way the remote is configured and wire it in and voila - you can turn off power to the fan or control it from the wall unit. It's like having another remote. Easy to install (just need ground, hot, neutral) - if you know how to install a light switch, you can install this. Love it when something just works.Minor quibbles/notes: Includes its own switch plates and different colored face plates (we panicked at first, but yes they have white, almond and black included). Also we had to use their screws to screw in the switch plate cover on the side this fan control switch was on as they were threaded differently.

Only one question
Installed wall control and it works fine. However the remote that came with the fan no longer works. I cannot find any instructions on how to program them so that both the wall control and handheld control work with the ceiling fan and light.
