Marinco 2-Wire ConnectPro® Charging / Downrigger / Trolling System

Much bulkier installed than I thought it would be. Used it to install an awning on my slide out that was already wired from the manufacturer. Had to unscrew the other part, twist this into it then screwed the whole thing back in to get it to click together. Works great so far though.

I had no trouble with tightening the screws like other people said, but I used a hand tool to make sure.

Installing the cables on the plug end required A LOT of effort to pull the plug apart. So much so that I had to put the plug in a vice and hit it with a mallet to get it to separate. The hole the wires goes through is rather small and I had to drill it out to allow the 6 gauge trolling motor cables to fit through it.

I bought two so that I could use a trolling motor front or back of a Pelican Bass Raider depending on my set up for the day. One socket had a wire terminal that instantly stripped when tightening the screw. And it has to be tightened quite snugly or the wire will easily pull out of the socket. The other terminals on this socket and my second socket as well as a plug were OK. This one was just a poor quality terminal. The cheap clamp they use is smooth surfaced and has no gripping ability to hold the wire other than tightening pressure. I was able to fix it by modifying the clamp and adding a nut fashioned from a breaker box type wire clamp. Shouldn’t have to do that but my option was that, or return for replacement, wait a week to get it, and wonder if the new one would strip out too. Secondly, the water tight cap for the socket is a poor fit. It will plug in and seal but it is slightly oversized and it takes a lot of pressure to insert it. Maybe over time it will mold itself better to the opening. Other than the cheap hardware typical with Chinese manufacturers, it is a good design and with overcoming the couple of glitches should hold up for years.

Ordered on a sunday afternoon. They shipped from Florida monday usps and received it in Illinois Wednesday. Easy to install. Only thing I wished was it had a cover for the male prongs. But awesome

PURCHASED A COUPLE OF THESE AND OUT OF THE BOX THEY WON'T PLUG TOGETHER HAD TO BEND THE BLADES TO PLUG TOGETHER. THEN THE POWER WOULD NOT RUN THROUGH IT, HAD TO PLAY AROUND WITH IT TO GET IT TO WORK. THEY ARE WELL MADE AND SEEM WELL WATERPROOF. I GAVE THEM A THREE STAR , YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO REALIGN THE BLADES TO MAKE THIS WORK.
