If it did say "6 sides" they fixed it. 2 faces for each file, 4 different grits in a single file and you get 12 files

How many uses can you get out of these boards??

It all depends on how you use your boards. I personal fine these boards last as long as any boards I have gotten from Sally's Beauty supply store.

For anyone who has used Tropical Shine, how do these compare?

I have not used Tropical Shine buffers, but these worked extremely well. Others I have gotten before were not as good. Some only had 3 grades of grit and some wore thru with very little usage. These have held up well and I liked the large quantity in the pkg. As well as these are lasting, I will not have to reorder for some time.

Are these foam boards?

These nail files have a bendable plastic core with a thin layer of foam on each side of the plastic. The abrasive paper is held on top of the foam by a strong adhesive. This is considered by most to be a "foam board".
