Restoring the Good News of King Jesus
Dr. Kikawa's books have been very healing in my own faith journey. If we are honest enough to evaluate the 1700 years of Christendom (the marriage of Christianity to governmental power kicking off around Eusebius and Constantine), I think we see some deeply troubling deformations of the message and practices of the people of God, especially when they are connected to governmental empires. The God of Genesis 1 and 2 is still the same being after Genesis 3...He delights in everything He has made. Where can we find evidence of this Good God? Looking into the story of Hawai'i is a fantastic place to ponder this pursuit. Dr. Kikawa demonstrates and details the plausible history of the people that give (check out his newest book!) us incredibly beautiful, Biblical, and Godly concepts in their language and culture (Aloha, ho'oponopono, etc.). If you are on the search for Good News, I found some here.

Mind-Blowing, Enlightening!
My Aunty suggested the book to read along with our Mo’okuauhau and I’m so glad that I did. It explains the voyage of the Hawaiian People and where we fit in as Polynesians. Brings Clarity to what I have always believed but did not understand. The Kapu System and why we have all these Demi-gods and how they came about. Why were we so secretive about the one true God and how the missionaries came to force their religion on us when we already knew about and worshipped the One True God. You will learn the true definition of Aloha! This book is for those that have an open mind and is willing to learn.I recommend getting all 3 books like I did.I am Hewahewa ‘Ohana.

Not as good as his other book
After reading Perpetuated in Righteousness, I was excited to find another book by the same author. The beginning of this book contains some similar info., but the rest is about how several church leaders on different Hawaiian islands supposedly reclaim the state of Hawaii for Jesus Christ by breaking generational curses and cleansing the land from the human sacrifices once practiced under the kapu system. Unfortunately, the author resorts to sensationalism, and subscribes to Charismatic theology. Nearly everyone involved experiences dreams, visions, God speaking to them, and other supernatural phenomena while involved in this assignment. Odd weather events, unique cloud formations, lava flowing over heiau, people smelling blood, and vehicles running on empty are just a few examples of supernatural signs which supposedly accompany this spiritual endeavor. The author manages to interpret nearly every occurrence as some sort of "sign" from God, or sometimes from the devil. At the end of the book, he even states that there are several details he intentionally omitted because they are too unexplainable. Attempting to separate truth from fiction, one must wonder who is more superstitious, the early Hawaiians he writes about, or the author himself.

A People Find Their Honor and Purpose
This is an excellent book. I found myself engrossed in the story. This is along the lines of Spirit of the Rainforest or Out of the Devil's Cauldron. A startling look at what witchcraft does to an entire people group and the power of YH to break the strongest curse.

This is a well researched and put together history of ...
This is a well researched and put together history of God and the Hawaiian peoples. Much of the story is about the family legacy of the 'lokane family. Their legacy and 800 year old prophecy and the promise that was fulfilled. Permission was given by the matriach of this family before the book was written and published.

Wow
I love Hawaii and this book is astonishing because of the places it goes that are at times not at all comfortable. However, history reveals that Pele is not all we think, and I am glad that Hawaii has redemption and hope despite the darkness of some of its past.

Priceless proof of the power of God's love.
For those who know God wants to take territory and bring light in the darkness, and how one people group walked this out....this is for you.
