A Descent into Hack Writer Hell
This novel is pure hack writer drivel. For example, Cornwell spews countless words describing what each character is wearing, every single time they enter a scene. She also drags out every scene to the point of torturing the reader to death. Case in point, the bomb scene in chapter 10. I was bored to tears. Where there should have been dramatic tension and suspense, there was only endless words repeating what had already been established. If I had a gun handy, I might have blown out my brains to end the agony. Clearly, Cornwell is getting paid by the word. It's a lot harder using one's word budget to add depth to the characters, but I guess that Cornwell decided that she didn't want to waste time doing something right, instead she opted for doing the easy and cashing in on her past performance. I'll never read another of her trash novels again. Good riddance.

Poorly written
This is an add-on to my other review. I came to read the reviews because I wanted to see if any one else complained about the writing. And yes, indeed, they did. Many times Cornwall has two people talking at the same time but on different subjects and even if that WERE a clever device in writing (which I don’t think so) it doesn’t need to be overused, like at least 5 or 6 times. I’m not even done with the book yet and don’t like to give up when I’m so far into it because I have invested my time, but I hope it’s not at total waste at the end!

Nothing below one star to give this disaster.
Let's be specific...I don't know a single woman who uses the F word, but it was the favorite word of most of the female characters in this book, and was used indiscriminantly and for no apparent reason. The last half of the book was reserved for nothing except ranting and raving (with no apparent motivation) of Kay and Lucy. And when I say ranting and raving, that's what I mean. Plus radio interview that was ridiculous and useless.,Plot, what plot?My guess is that she signed a contract to write "x" number of books and had to come up with something, so this was what she came up with. I see irony in the fact that one of the characters in the book reminds me of her-losing radio ratings so she tried to raise her ratings by ratings by being negative and hateful.Don't waste your time unless you are a diehard and love anything she writes regardless of quality.

Writing at it's best
Writing at it's best ... as always the plot thickens and the truth comes out ... you can NOT get away with it when doc and Marino are on the case
