The Bird King: An Artist's Notebook : Tan, Shaun: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Bird King 2013 edition - Although I should've realized by the name of the book I still thought this was a follow-up to the previous The Bird King book that came 2 years ago (why would they release the same book again?). But yes, this book is exactly the same as the previous one and I now own 2 ex of it. Differences between the both books is that this version has glossy paper while the 2011 edition have matte paper, I know that some people prefer one over the other. I do have to say that I prefer the new cover over the old one, so it's not that bad to own both editions. Great sketches and a wonderful inspiration book for Shaun Tan-fans like me. Review: inspirational - I love Shaun Tans illustrations and this book is full of inspiration and will hopefully set me on the road to creating my own characters.

日本版も持っております。もうどうしようもなく好きな絵なので洋書の方も見てみたくなり購入。中は同じですが紙や印刷の具合がほんのすこし違います。 背が布地張りで紙にややツヤがあります。 作品に関しては何も言うことはありません。大好きです。

Una mirada a los bocetos de un ilustrador sobresaliente. También son muy valiosos sus comentarios. La impresión es estupenda, el libro es de pastas duras y está a un precio excelente. Una joya.

Incrível artbook de um dos ilustradores mais criativos da nossa época. Todos os livros dele são geniais. Mas esse artbook deveria ser obrigatório para todo ilustrador!

I love, love Shaun Tan! And this book is just what's happening in his mind. Beautiful notebook and really leaves me in awe. I gave this book as a gift to a friend of mine who draws and is preparing to go into art school and she loves it and loves ME for it. Beautiful, cherish-able book.
