Martha Stewart Opalton 18-Piece Dinnerware Set – Chip and Break Resistant Opal Glass Plates and Bowls, Lightweight White Dinner Set for 6, Microwave and Dishwasher Safe

This set of dishes is attractive and lightweight. They replaced a heavy set of stoneware dishes. I particularly like the raised edge of the plates and salad plates which keeps food from sliding off. I wish there were other pieces I could add such as large soup bowls, serving bowls, and platters. UPDATE: Tonight I had just put my supper on one of the plates and it cracked in half. There were no glass splinters. It was a clean but jagged break. The food was not exceptionally hot. It was quite a surprise and disappointment. The dinnerware has not had hard use. I live alone and the plates are not used every day. They have never been dropped.

They are light weight. The pattern on the bottom of the plates and outside of the bowls make for an easy non-slip surface. I have young children that have dropped one of these dishes. This resulted in no cracks, chips or shattering. Very pleased with this product.

These were great until one of the plates cracked after taking it out of the microwave and this product is advertised as microwave safe!!!! Would like a replacement plate to keep my set in tact

I was looking to buy Corelle, but every time I put the Corelle set in my cart the price increased. I bought these instead. I was worried that the ridging texture on the underside would be weird and give them a cheap feel, but the opposite is true. I love the ridging, weight and feel of these. These are not too thin as some of the other reviews would have you believe. I'll be adding additional bowels and plates to my set.

It scratches easily, chips very easily and in general is no where near the quality one would hope to get from a Martha Stewart brand. I regret not choosing Corelle.

They are gorgeous simply dinnerware, and is super light and easy to clean. It is microwave safe and a great size for all food. I have owned these for a year already and have noticed that they scratch very easily. For example, if you are eating steak with a knife and fork, most likely the knife will leave scratches on the plate. The scratches come out black and you can feel them.

Moved and was excited to buy new dishes. Looked at many sets, but found most of the stoneware ones I thought I would want to be quite heavy, and thinking about putting a stack of large plates in the cupboard after emptying the dishwasher gave me pause. So these are pure white, which I wanted, are all good sizes, and are a bit upgraded from corelle with the nice ribbing on the underside, feels very nice in the hand. They don't scratch like many stoneware plates. Bought a set of 6 and liked them so much I bought another set. I also liked that they didn't come with mugs as I do like nice teacups, which I already have.
