SO Beautiful and so Easy to Hold!
I absolutely Love this Mug! It's the Perfect size for a small/regular cup of coffee! It's so beautiful and It's so easy to hold because of the unique design of the fingerhold and thumb rest! For Anybody with arthritis or any other issues that may make it difficult to hold onto a regular coffee/tea cup this is a Must Have! The cup the perfect size, not too heavy but still solidly built and stays secure in my hand. I never feel like I might drop it, no matter how hot the liquid inside the cup is! I am absolutely so pleased that I immediately bought another one and I'm looking to purchase some for gifts! Yes, it's a little bit pricey but definitely well worth it! And it's a beautiful piece of artisan craftsmanship as well! So so happy!!!My only regret is that it doesn't come in other colors!

Small but cute
I will probably use this as a planter because it is so small and kind of awkward shaped to actually drink out of but I love how organic it looks! Also good for scooping liquid out of soup on the stovetop too like a fancy ladle.

"Charming Yet Misleading: A Tale of Rustic Elegance and Unexpected Size"
When I received this handcrafted Viking-inspired coffee mug, my initial reaction was a blend of admiration and disappointment. The craftsmanship is undeniably impressive, with each mug being handcrafted on a potter's wheel, making it a unique piece of art. The robust construction, fired at over 2200°F, promises durability, and its microwave and dishwasher safety is a practical advantage. The rustic and masculine design, inspired by ancient Viking drinking vessels, adds a touch of historical elegance to my collection. The stoneware's aqua color and the thumb rest for a sturdy grip enhance its appeal, making it not just a mug but a statement piece. However, the mug's size was a letdown. Despite its grand appearance in pictures, it holds no more than a standard coffee cup. This discrepancy between expectation and reality was a bit disheartening, especially considering its price point.Despite the size issue, the mug has its charm and serves well for a cozy coffee experience. It stands out in my kitchenware collection with its unique design and story, echoing the rugged history of the Vikings. In essence, if you're drawn to artisanal pieces with a story and can overlook the size aspect, this Viking-inspired mug could still be a worthy addition to your morning routine or collection. Just be prepared for its modest capacity, which might not match its bold aesthetic.

Lovely! Just use a coaster!
This cup is gorgeous! The top part is a smooth glazed finish. The bottom part is rough clay. It looks beautiful! However, the bottom of the mug is also rough. So, be sure to use a coaster to prevent scratching surfaces. The one-finger handle feels more than enough for the size of the mug.... speaking of which, while the mug is on the smaller side if you are used to giant coffee cups, it holds at least as much as your average diner coffee mug... probably more. While I sometimes "thin out" my coffee mugs and get rid of the ones that I don't love, I think this one will stick around. However, I do have to admit the price seems a bit steep... almost $40 for a coffee mug seems a bit much. I can get hand-thrown local ones much more cheaply.

Great mug!!
Comfy to hold, beautiful to look at, and seems durable. The way they have the handle is very nice to hold. My hubby got this for himself, but I stole it... I like it 😬

NOT a Viking mug
When this mug popped up on my feed, I ordered without hesitation, as historical items such as this intrigue me. As I awaited the arrival of the mug, I did a little bit of research into the Hemse artifact this mug is based on, and it is, in fact, NOT a Viking mug in the slightest. Sure, the mug was found at a Viking burial site, but the design of the mug is from China, more specifically, during the Tang dynasty, and the specific artifact itself came from Persia. Sure, it may have been a mug that was used by a Viking at some point, but that, in of itself, does not make this a Viking mug. It's disappointing the listing doesn't mention this, as, to me, that makes the product even more interesting, but as the listing stands, it is quite misleading to market this as a "Viking" product. The mug itself isn't quite as vibrant as in the photos, and is pretty rough on hands and tables alike. The exposed stone easily scratches wood, and I've had to take some sandpaper to mine to smooth out some of the jagged edges. I'm sure it was handcrafted, but missing is some kind of signiture of the artist that created it, and so it feels a lot more manufactured and corporatey than handcrafted by some individual. Overall, it seems this product has very little care put into it.

beautiful and functional
A really nice piece, easy to hold, good for espresso-style drinks. It is very uniform, which makes me wonder exactly how handcrafted it was, but it's still quite nice. I like the little thumb rest, the different textures, the size and color. Would make a nice gift.
