I got this as a family gag gift, because my grandmother-in-law once invented and sold a suntan lotion applicator herself called the Sunbuddy, but it turned out this one is actually pretty useful. It makes applying sunscreen evenly much easier and faster. By having a large surface area on the strap spreading the lotion, you don’t miss spots or wind up with big globs all in one place and it takes less time. It was surprisingly effective and easy to use on myself, so I don’t have to ask anyone to do my back for me. No doubt the strap will be rather sticky after repeated use, so the rings are nice to give you something to hold on to (I hate getting my hands sticky!), and the storage bag keeps the rest of your stuff in your beach tote clean. Overall, glad I got it.

This is a neat concept but over time this will get dirty with lotions and oils. The part you apply with does not absorb the lotion, but the stitching and straps will. This does work for applying things to areas you cannot reach, such as your back. The metal rings are a bit odd, but I guess they work to have something to hold on to. It includes a storage bag. I just wish there was an easy way to wash this without the metal rings clanging all over your washer.

Works great when you are in a pinch and have no one to rub lotion on your back. I had trouble getting the lotion applied on my back, close to my bathing suit and ended up getting a little red where I missed. Overall, this is a handy option to keep in my beach bag.

This is such a great product for those hard to reach spots on my back that I just can't seem to get the sunscreen on! With this strap, I smooth on the sunscreen, do some wiggling and I'm covered! Also works great for lotion after the shower too! The part you slather on your preferred lotion is a slippery material and cleans easily after use. The metal rings are nice to hold and the whole thing just works wonderfully!

I actually got this for applying lotion. It does work, but it’s hard to get the lotion really rubbed in good using it, it’s hard to apply any real pressure. Also, I end up getting it all over the strap too which is difficult to clean. It will do in a pinch if there’s no one around, but I wouldn’t want to use it every day.

I have lived alone for a few years now and putting on lotion on your own back is virtually impossible. I tried another lotion applicator for my back. It was a wand type and fell apart after just a couple of uses. Now I am finally I am able to reach all of those hard to reach areas with this applicator. In our climate in the winter skin gets very dry. This product has saved my itchy and dry areas that I could not moisturize on my own. When summer returns my back will finally get the sunscreen it needs.

I probably wouldn’t use this for lotion, but it works for sunscreen. The biggest issue is product can get caught up in the stitching line. I do feel like my back was covered and I didn’t get burned. With this I don’t need to ask someone to apply my sunscreen so I can be sure enough is used for sun protection. The travel bag is great since you can fold it up and toss it in your beach bag.

This sunscreen applicator is such a good idea because we don’t always have a willing friend around to apply lotion or sunscreen to our back and other hard to reach places. The carrying case is lightweight and makes it convenient to neatly stow away after using it. Perfect for the beach or even for applying lotion after a shower.
