These work well
If you're like me you are constantly taking your reading glasses off and on. And it's no fun. So when I saw these readers with lenses that could be quickly flipped up out of the way when you don't want to look through them, I thought that I would give them a try.First off, please note that you aren't going to win a fashion contest while wearing these. My wife forbade me from wearing them out of the house. Fortunately, the purpose of these is to wear them when I'm working in the garage, so her demand didn't impact the intended use.The dioptric strength of the lenses is just what I expected it to be. The lenses are quite wide, which is good I guess, but they tend to have a focus issue out toward the sides - perhaps it's a problem with the distance from the eyeball or something. But as long as you're not looking out of the side of your eye (and who is while focusing intently on something in front of them) that really isn't a problem. They are very light-weight, and yet very sturdy. They fit my rather large head quite well, and I appreciate that the side pieces don't try to curl down behind the ear - instead they go straight back over the ear, which accommodates a big-headed guy like me.Snapping the lenses up out of the way and then back down for use is very easy to do, and the mechanism provides a good solid snap in both directions, so they aren't going to wobble around loosely in either position. However, in the up and away position, the structure of the glasses and the lenses are a bit low in my field of view, which I found a bit annoying at first - but I got used to it.So, these work well for their intended use - which is to wear while I am working on a car in the garage, and want to be able to see up close, but then a moment later want to see the bigger picture, and then back and forth and back and forth ad nauseum. It's very convenient to not have to take the glasses off and on continually, but to just snap the lenses up and down instead.Recommended.

I am wearing them now!
I normally wear "cheater" glasses (+1.50) and saw these and thought I would give them a try. I don't need regular glasses and glasses like these help me to see things clearer that are close up. I flip them up when I want to look at something far away. They work very well and I don't have to take them off or push them up on my head. The quality is very good....and for the price you really can't go wrong. The hinge that flips the lens up and down works great and takes little effort. The hinge holds the glasses in the up position very well and it only comes down when you want it to.The lens is perfectly clear and smudges wipe off easily. No scratches on them yet. The nose piece is comfortable and sits nicely on my nose. The frames flex and I have stretched them outward a bit to see how much give they have.... and actually quite a bit. The hinges are tight and fold nicely but I'll just have to wait and see if they loosen up over time. There are little rubber ends on the ends of each side of the frames. They really help with comfort. They also provide you with a nice soft bag and cleaning towelette. I will probably never use the bag as I just set them down wherever but I do hope I remember to use the towelette and not my shirt. My only two issues I have with the glasses. The first would be that when the lens is flipped up, it does distort you view if you look up at all. For example if I am walking outside and I have them flipped up and I look up.... the glasses distort my view because they only flip up 90 degrees. It would be better if they flipped up the full 180 degrees. The other issue is a small one. The sides of the frames curve in and don't go straight back. I am a bigger guy with a round head so the backs of the frame where the rubber is presses in on my head. After a while it gets annoying. It doesn't really hurt per se but I want to take them off. I wish the sides of the frame just went straight back and not curve in. I guess it's just a preference of mine. It may not bother you at all.Overall I am very satisfied with the glasses and would recommend them.

Not nerdy, very functional
I need reading glasses when I wear contacts. Typical use cases are stores where I need to read labels, or restaurants for menus. It’s a hassle to hang them off my neck and take them on and off constantly, which is what I do now. I saw these and thought they’d be worth a try. I can flip them up when not needed, but still keep them on my face. Yes, it’s rather dorky, but I don’t care as long as it makes my life easier. I’m really impressed with these glasses!- They have a sporty style that, when flipped down, look like normal glasses. I don’t think most people will notice they flip when looking at me.- They’re slim and lightweight. The rimless lens gives it a smoother and wider field of vision than framed glasses.- The rubber nose pad can be adjusted for the perfect fit.- The arms cannot be permanently bent because there’s no wire in them. But they are a pliable plastic, not brittle, and so there is some give on the arms, as if they had spring hinges.- The ends of the arms that go on the ears are rounded and rubberized to prevent slipping.- Most importantly, they work! The lenses allow for clear, close- up vision so I can read documents with my contacts on. And the lens flip is easy yet solid. They stay up and don’t fall back down. Since this is a moving part, only time will tell how long this lasts before breaking. But for the price, I’d just buy another pair.

Flip On or Off, Great Idea.
I have been wearing these glasses all week and am currently doing so as I write this review. These glasses are great for the one factored, I do not need to take them off and misplace them as I often do with other reading glasses. If I do not need the magnification (which I do when on a computer, reading, or writing) I simply flip the lenses up! If I need the magnification, I simply flip lenses back down. This may not seem like a lot of effort but if you use glasses like I do, you will understand how helpful and time saving this flip up idea is. Glasses are light, fit well, do not slide off, look good, are well made with quality material (plastic frames). I do feel nose bridge is digging a little into my nose but I may just need to adjust it or become accustomed to it (bridge is different for what I normally wear).

A quality, affordable take on the traditional bifocal lens glasses.
These are kind of like bifocals except the bottom “near” portion of the lens can be flipped up out of the way when not needed. The lens is rated at UV 400 and has eight layers of protective coating to guard against glare and blue light harm from LED, fluorescent lights and other artificial sources. Lenses rated UV 400 provide nearly 100 percent protection from ultraviolet rays.Trimmed in grey and black, they look pretty stylish, too.The nose bridge is cushioned and comfortable. The temples are lightweight and flexible to fit larger heads such as mine.I did notice that a ribbed inset towards the end of the temple that helps hold the glasses in place can be a bit abrasive when the glasses are removed. But again, my head is larger than average.I’m using a diopter strength of 2.5, one of four strengths offered. The magnification effect is more evident at longer distances. The view is clear and distortion free, but the magnification is not significant overall. When the lens is flipped up, it is still visible in the upper edge of my field of view, which is a bit distracting. Also, there is no way to flip the lens without smudging the glass with the fingertips. Neither issue is of major concern, especially weighed against the clarity of the glass and overall quality of the item. The glasses are far more affordable than prescription bifocals, while offering some of the benefits. But in practical terms, I'm not sure I'd walk around all day with the lens flipped up to have it available to lower when it came time to read the fine print. At that point I'd be as well off reaching for an inexpensive pair of reading glasses. The glasses come with a satiny, grey carrying pouch with a drawstring, and a matching lens cleaning cloth.
