Bose Makes Hearing Aids too
This is for the Lexie B2 Plus Powered by Bose hearing aids. I really like them, here is my story: I first purchased expensive hearing aids in 2009 when I had no clue what my soft-spoken female students were saying in my physics class. I have tinnitus and a frequency loss in the area of the female voice frequency range (no joke). I first went to the place that sends you mailers every day, will take you to lunch and will give you a free hearing test. The cost was 4 times what I paid for my first car. I did not purchase from that company; I purchased hearing aids from an Audiologist that said the amplified sound would help with the tinnitus and they cost around $6,000. Because my classroom was warm, sweat appeared in back of my ears and the batteries would short out midday. Teachers do not make a whole lot of money and these hearing aids lasted a couple days after the warranty lapsed. In 2017, I tried the Costco hearing aids they were also fitted by an Audiologist in South Florida for around $1,700 and they were rechargeable. Costco replaced parts but the hearing aids died after I ran out of warranty. In 2020, I attended a service fair for seniors, and they had an Audiologist that said she could beat the Costco price and fix my tinnitus with specially designed hearing aids. The price was good. The first set lasted a week, and they replaced them with a more expensive model. I declined the monthly fee to keep the hearing aids tuned up because I am pretty much an expert at cleaning hearing aids. They lasted until the warranty lapsed. Then at the end of 2025 after aggravating my wife for repeats of what she said and cranking up the TV to the point it vibrated the windows; I realized I had to do something. I had three criteria: · I wanted something rechargeable · I wanted something reasonably priced · I wanted control of ambient noise in the room to make voices clearer. Just like my Boise Quiet Comfort headphones. I read all the reviews, the best products recommended lists. The Lexi hearing aid reviews did not seem very good. But then I realized that the people reviewing had never worn hearing aids before. Hearing aids take some getting used to. And if your loss is more evident you must use the “closed dome” hearing speaker cover in your ear canal. Previous hearing aids did not pull in the full audio spectrum, they just pulled in the frequencies you were missing, so you needed holes in the hearing aid dome (the part that plugs your ear canal) to bring in the regular sound. That is not how the Lexi works. It takes in everything and because it is taking in everything, if you have significant loss you need to plug off your ear canal or it will create feedback, lots of feedback. To top it off they are made with Bose noise cancelling technology, the same as my favorite headphones. Still, I was skeptical, and since I have Amazon Prime, I knew I could return the hearing aids if they did not work. On 02/07/2026 I purchased my pair of Lexi hearing aids. I believe they arrived the next day. I had a little trouble pairing them and I called tech support. A very nice guy helped me pair them (I probably should have read the instructions). Then he said, just follow the prompts in the app (or something like that). I was skeptical still, and he stayed on the line with me while I worked through the app. It was so simple. Then the app gave me the SAME hearing test I had taken so many times with an Audiologist. I think it was a better test because it was through the hearing aids themselves instead of a set of headphones that the audiologist used. That way, how your hearing aid fits in your ear canal could change the results of your test and give you a better result. Then the app told me it was done. No kidding it WORKED. You turn them on and it pays a note. When it starts up, you hear all of the fan noise of computers and other noise; but then, it is gone, and what you hear is clear. Each ear is like that. With the app, you can control the amount of sound, the different modes for different surroundings. Sure, if you are in the car with the window rolled down you can turn off the left hearing aid and you don’t hear the wind noise, or you can change the environment in the app. However, the reality is that the native mode without using the app is just fine. Lessons learned: • Do not attempt to wear them all day on the first day. If you have been without hearing aids for a while, it will wear you out. • Make sure you have a good contact with the hearing aid seated properly in the charger when you place them on charge. I thought I had a problem because it ran out of charge quickly, but it turns out it was not seated in the charger correctly. I would highly recommend the Lexi, they were the least costly hearing aids I have bought and have worked the best.

Do Not Buy
Updated review August 2025. The hearing aids worked well until Lexie introduced a new app that controls the product. First, the app deleted all my environments which worked well, took some time to develop and test. Reestablished two new environments on the new app only to have them deleted spontaneously as well. Several times the hearing aids simply stopped working. Once while I was driving and unable to address the spontaneous failure. Customer Service is not helpful. Clueless human or AI. Either go back to the previous simple, intuitive app or repair the new app. Meantime, I change my recommendation to DO NOT BUY. After four years of searching, three audiologists, two otolaryngologists, four hearing aids, I finally found this Lexie Bose product. Less expensive than the audiologist Rx hearing aids. The app administers a hearing test then customizes amplification based on your individual needs. Similar to work the audiologist does. Devices are comfortable and my open dome choice allows me to hear my own voice without the conductive distortions you get from in canal aids. My own speaking voice sounds normal. Hearing music from base to treble. Hearing birds for the first time in years. Product description accurately advises that music streaming is poor quality, but my experience is that spoken word streaming like talk radio or audiobooks is acceptably clear. By experimenting with the environments settings, I was able to establish an "Earbuds" setting that produces acceptable music sound. Seller correctly points out these devices do not produce a high fidelity music sound, but I found with a little experimentation with the volume, bass and treble settings, the music acceptable and convenient to set up. More bass tones reduce the tinny sound quality.

These stopped working properly after several months.
These are the second brand of hearing aides I've tried. The first ones wouldn't hold a charge for me, but the hearing test was good and I liked them otherwise. The hearing test that came with these was awful. The sounds were way too loud and there was a lot of echo. I could hear my hair when I pushed it back and my glasses when I put them on. I'm wearing them now, after lowering the volume and treble. I'll try wearing them for a day and then decide if they should be returned or kept. I have a feeling that the hearing test I took at the audiologist was incorrect too. I'm never sure if I hear the little beeps or not. I'll update this after wearing these for a day. I'm adding another star. I can hear quite well with these, but I'm frequently turning the volume up and down and sometimes one or the other ear goes mute and I can't unmute it. it might just take more time to figure all of this out, but things are at least progressing. I've had these for less than a year and have downgraded my review. They worked well in the beginning and I didn't wear therm all of the time as I didn't feel I needed them except to watch tv or was out with a large group of people. After about 6 months, they started making weird, noises, mostly swishy sounds. At first this only happened when I was on my phone. I called for support and the person I spoke to was very helpful so I thought the problem was solved. But, a few days later, whenever I put the left one in my ear, as soon as I turned the aide on, the horrible noise started again. I tried several times but it was hopeless. I also had problems at times getting them connected by my phone. Like many other people who gave reviews, I bought them as I've always trusted Bose Speakers, It was a mistake. I wasted 1000 dollars. Btw, a local pharmacy is now selling these for 500 dollars, which makes me think they really never were worth as much as I paid. Don't waste your money. You might be better off buying a really cheap pair of hearing aides for about 100 dollars as they couldn't be more unreliable than these have been for me.

Light weight, comfortable and give good result for moderate hearing loss
Work well for me, with my moderate hearing loss. Good customer service - an issue with one hearing aid not connecting was fixed with two phone calls. Convenient having controls on my iphone for volume, environment, etc. Charge case small but sturdy. Good reception; no whistling once devices are in the ears; no discomfort wearing them for most of the day. Very small and discreet on the ear, and comfortable in the ear - very light weight. Set-up needs patience, but a good instruction book is provided, and customer phone service is excellent.

Hearing excellent. App instructions need improvement
I previously used the original Bose hearing aids. These are much clearer and seem better at amplifying the sounds I want to hear (speech) and not the annoying creaks of eg footsteps etc. I have deducted one star because I found the Lexie app much harder to use than the Bose one and the instructions in my package showed a previous version of the app. I was forced to call the helpline which was excellent, because nowhere did it tell me I needed to change my phone settings to connect even though I didn’t want to use the streaming functionality. This would be an easy fix in the app or the booklet or both! Update: after a few days use I noticed that the right hearing aid lost charge at almost twice the rate of the left, does not charge above 96% and if set above 25 runs out in less than 12 hours. I contacted the support by chat and was told they would email a shipping label for return and replacement. Nothing happened. I contacted support again, nothing happened. I telephoned support and was again promised an email. Still nothing. I now have no choice but to return to Amazon while I still can. Very disappointed as I really like them in principle.

Unnecessarily complicated set up.
How patient are you with set ups and registrations? If you have some patience, then by all means find your best magnifying glass. The registration says enter SN for right ear and for left ear. The box shows an FCC ID for left and right ears but only one serial number. Turns out that one SN works for both ears. There's more to do but skip to connecting to the app on the phone. You're supposed to turn on the aids. How do you know if they are on? No lights as on other aids, but a tiny sound. Of course, you bought these because you have trouble hearing such sounds. Mine made the sounds but my phone 2 inches away didn't connect. Oh, it says make sure they are sufficiently charged. Our of the box apparently not though I did hear a tiny sound when I pressed the on/off button. How do I know if I turned them on or turned them off? By now you understand why only 3 stars. When I get them working maybe 4 or maybe 1. Stay tuned.

Lots of ups and downs with these and room for improvement. They’re NOT amplifiers at least.
Review of Lexie B2 Plus OTC Hearing Aids Powered by Bose - Rechargeable Hearing Aids for Seniors, 18 Hour Wireless Charging Case, Hearing Aids with Bluetooth Enabled Calls On iOS, Hearing Aids (Light Gray) @ $999.00 I have moderate hearing loss, with the right ear being the worse. I have tried several hearing “amplifiers” and a couple of them even claimed to be hearing “aids” but were obviously not. I had previously gone to Miracle Ear and had testing done and declined to buy their almost $10,000 hearing aids: that’s just not affordable to me. I did more research and narrowed my choices down to this Lexie B2 Plus and the Jabra Enhance 50. This Lexie is from Bose, a very reputable company that specializes in engineering sound quality products. The Lexie B2 did not have as good of reviews, but this Plus unit had better ones even though not as many reviews in total. I liked that these offer several nice features. Up to 18 hours of charged hearing aids on a 3-hour charge is good. It’s a nice charging case. I like that they are rechargeable. I don’t want to be buying and messing with changing batteries, which are relatively expensive. I have an iPhone, and this caters to the iPhone user more perhaps than Android whereas I can use these to get phone calls, but they do not stream music, which is sort of a disappointment. I like that these have an app to provide “audiologist-quality customization”, according to the documentation. I like having pre-set options for your environment and being able to customize 10 of my own. But automatic adjustments would be much nicer. Obviously, this would likely increase the cost of these. There are several pairs of ear domes to choose from for a “self-fit solution”. I really don’t like wearing things in my ears or behind them, but overall, the comfort level is not bad. They are relatively discreet. I would actually forget I was wearing them, and my daughter did not notice I was wearing them when I went to visit her. The documentation claims that Lexie hearing aids are the best OTC in the US, but I have nothing to compare these to as far as OTC ‘actual’ hearing aids. The app loaded quickly and connected to the hearing aids without any problems. The app is mostly user friendly. There are help files and links within the help files, as well as links to some videos. The app allows you to adjust the volume of the hearing aids, but not independently. You also adjust the treble, but I did not find that useful at all. The volume can be adjusted on the aids themselves, and the lower volume control turns them on and off. There are 4 “environments” to choose from, and each one automatically changes the settings (volume and treble) on the hearing aids. I tried all of these but did not find that they did a very good job of adjusting the hearing aids in a manner that improved what I was hearing, nor did it help to clarify voices. When watching TV I was mostly able to NOT use closed captioning. But that depended upon the program and whether or not I was watching satellite or streaming a program. I also found that they did not seem to maintain the settings. I would have them set, look at the levels in the app, use them for a bit and then look at the levels again, only to find that they had changed somehow. I took the hearing test on the app. In fact, I took the hearing test multiple times in an effort to improve the automatic settings. Every time I took the test, the settings were automatically set to a different setting than before no matter which domes I used. These arrived with what they call the closed domes (size #2) pre-installed. The tests are recommended to be taken with closed domes. There are 2 sets of domes sized #1, #2, & #3, that come with this (6 total). Each size has 1 set of closed domes and 1 set of open (they have holes around the circumference) domes. I tried the hearing test with sizes 2 and 3. Size #1 was so small they did not even touch the insides of the ear canal. I tried each of the other domes after the tests to see what seemed to work best. I finally settled on the ones that came pre-installed. The charger did a good job. It is a USB C charger. The hearing aids’ charge seemed to last 18 hours or a little more. There’s nothing on the outside of the charger to tell you that it’s working. When you open the charger, its white lights are lit whether the hearing aids are in the cradles or not. I suppose that this indicates that the charging case has power. You only get one charge of the hearing aids without the case plugged in and if it has a full charge. Otherwise, you must plan on charging the case and hearing aids at the same time. But it does seem to fully charge the aids in the reported 3 hours. This does not come with any type of case for just storing or drying the hearing aids. There is no room for drying capsules in the charging case while the hearing aids are cradled. The documentation that comes with these states that there are drying capsules included, but there are not. Don’t tell me there are when there are none! Did they work? To a degree they did help. But I found that all I seemed to do was readjust them. The ultimate test was when I visited family, which I was having so much trouble understanding my daughter even when she was sitting right next to me. Having these set to what should have been correct, I still had trouble understanding her. In these situations when I turned the volume up enough to hear her, it was too loud otherwise. Just walking across the floor, I could hear the creaking, but too loud. I can tell that these are more than just hearing amplifiers. It did stream calls to my hearing aids, but the sound was not in stereo, and it was poor quality. The sound was in the right ear only. When getting a call on my iPhone, I noticed that I had to choose on my phone where I wanted to hear the call (my phone, my phone’s speaker, or my Bose Lexie device). This was sort of a pain. I don’t think that these were working as they should. At one point the left one was crackling. I was still, not chewing or talking or doing anything, and it was just crackling away. Suddenly it stopped. I also do not think these have any noise cancelling capabilities. If they do, they’re not very adept. There is no way to upload any audiologist reports if you might already have one, which I did from Miracle Ear. Bose does not offer any kind of assistance with professional adjustments to the hearing levels or fittings of the domes. You are on your own for this. I ordered these after a friend that was helping me research OTC hearing aids suggested them. Plus, these were $200 to $400 less than the higher rated Jabra brand. That is a great deal of money to me in difference. Due to all of the problems these presented, I returned them. I will likely just order the Jabra and get the additional support, supplies, professional adjustments, and warranty, all for 3 years. The Bose Lexie do not offer this level of help.

Hearing sounds I had not heard for years! A great purchase!
My grandsons (10 & 8) had promised to buy me a hearing aids from the money they had saved so I could hear them completely. Their magnamity had me in tears! So, after a lot of research and a check up at Costco, I ordered a pair of Lexie B2 Plus powered by Bose on Amazon. I set them up immediately on receiving my Lexie pair. My grandsons are now thrilled that they dont need to repeat things anymore, but conversely, now they cannot wisper between themselves any more. Seriously, I'm thrilled with my Lexie B2 Plus. I'm hearing speach, sound and musical notes I had not heard in ages. At the golf course I even hear small birds chirping on tall trees. And the B2 Plus dont fall off either while taking a swing etc. Besides being more or less invisible, they are not uncomfortable. Great streaming too. The app does in fact work well! Customer support by Lexie is personalized and prompt. No long waits or call back promises. I video'ed with them and was promptly shipped a spare wire pair that I needed for a better fit. I've recommended Lexie B2 Plus to several friends and im suprised to see how many people are contemplating getting a pair but dont take the plunge. My suggestion is, put aside your inhibitions, no one notices anyway, and one hears entire conversations rather than imagine the lost words or play "fill in the blanks"! At first, may feel a bit uneasy, but give them at least2-4 weeks please! The more they are worn the less one feels them. Hear better -- Relive life ! My regret - I should have got them earlier!!
