I remember using something similar to this product when I was a kid, so I bought these in an effort to get my three children to brush their teeth better (ages 12, 10, and 5). They really enjoy dyeing their teeth and tongues, so it's definitely a win for them! They honestly look forward to brushing their teeth every night now, and they definitely spend way longer brushing their teeth than they did before, so I guess it's a win for me as wellThe only downside is that it stains their mouths and tongues, and no amount of brushing will get rid of it so they can only use them at nighttime so that the color fades by morning. My kids wouldn't mind walking around all day with a purple mouth, but I definitely don't want them going to school looking like they ate purple candy for breakfast. All in all a great product and I hope my kids learn better brushing habits even when they stop using these tablets.

These work great and my kids say they taste good. After my kids think they brushed their teeth, there is always purple left which prompts them to brush again.

I used these right after I got them in the mail which happened to be 2-3 hours after brushing my teeth. I was a little disappointed that I hardly saw any color on my teeth. I decided to wait and use them the next morning. I also had my husband use at the same time. I think we actually brush our teeth better than we thought because it was only a light purple/pink film on our teeth. It was no problem brushing it off and I do think it would be helpful to use these to make sure everything is clean clean.Others have said that it stains their tooth brush and sink. We’ve used them a few times now and there haven’t been any staining problems. We rinsed the sink immediately after spitting and then again after brushing. Also rinsed our tooth brushes well. No issues!I’m only giving it 4 stars because I feel like the purple could be more vibrant.

These tablets are great. I remember using something like this when i was a kid too.We wanted to get something to demonstrate to our child the importance of proper brushing and good brushing technique. I purposely didn't brush my teeth in the before pic, i really wanted to show the plaque. You can see the results.+ Properly sealed tablets+ Taste isn't terrible lol+ Very good job highlighting the plaque, especially between the teeth.- Doesn't taste great.- Your tongue will be pink/purple for HOURS. A minor annoyance. When you brush afterwards, be prepared because you will make tons of pink foam. LolVery happy with these tablets. Brought our child's attention to the importance of proper brushing and flossing. Great product!

As others have cautioned, the dye is pretty strong so you have to be careful when rinsing/spitting. Probably best to do it in a metal sink too just in case. Kind of expensive, but it does seem to be at about normal market price for similar products. I was hoping these would highlight older plaque/tartar or even calculus, but that's on me for not researching better. It also tints the non-plaque portions of the teeth/tongue pretty badly for a while, but not so much that it's completely impossible to distinguish the actual plaque at least. My one big complaint is that these things have the worst taste in the world. I can't imagine what they're using that has such a disgusting flavor, but I hope they improve that at some point.

First and foremost my apologies for those whom might get gross out with my teeth. It is for educational purposes. This great product was recommended to me by my dental hygienist. Even though my teeth are in great condition, she keep finding out on my 6 month cleaning the same three areas of concern. I am so greatful to her. I can now see clearly I wasn't spending enough time on those three areas in between my teeth which I right away have corrected. Now I see no purple markings which mean only one thing. That I am doing a GREAT JOB. Brushing my teeth in the morning and before going to bed along with flossing. I am looking forward to my next appointment and hear what my hygienist have to say. 😁For anyone reading my post. I'm not sure if I've ever written a 1 star review before! I can't find the brand (GUM) I am used to and have always had wonderful success with, so I read the reviews and picked this one. No one who opened up MY package and put the tablet in their mouth could give this any other than a 0 stars! I hadn't brushed for over 8 hours, and I just had a sandwich and chips. The doorbell rang, it was the Amazon delivery person, and so I opened and tried these out, expecting the plaque to show up nicely. Well, it looked like I had drank water instead of the tablet! If that tablet was working, then I must have just come home from a teeth cleaning! (Not for many moons!) Thankfully, I still had a few Gum Red-Cote disclosing tablets left, so I ran and put one in my mouth, waited 20 seconds, spit it out, and looked at my teeth. Plaque everywhere. Yup, this product is awful. Too bad, since my usual kind is very hard to find right now. This product did not change any part of any of my teeth, left them white as snow. Not even a light pink anywhere.

After using this, my daughter wouldn't dare neglect brushing her teeth properly again.

Great product for children especially with braces to ensure cleaning is thorough. As an adult I did try myself, obviously brushing was on point as no discoloration shown on teeth but does significantly stain your tongue bright purple - took 24hours to subside even after brushing tongue alone to remove.
