Flip Your Focus: Igniting People, Profits and Performance through Upside-Down

I found this book through Joshua Sprague's courses on self publishing and decided to check it out. I just took over management of a dysfunctional team in a medical practice and am already working to create an upside team. This book has pragmatic, workable ideas for getting teams to bond. Consultants write books for many reasons -often, only to make a name for themselves in building their career. Not true with Flip Your Focus. If every leader followed the precepts in this book, they could become the leader that Liz Wiseman referred to as a Multiplier... where people love their boss, perform at higher levels than average because they feel smarter than they may even be. Leaders that consider Bob's wisdom will see performance skyrocket and turnover drastically reduced or eliminated. Flip Your Focus is a significant contribution to the training and perspective leaders need, to build a team that performs above all others -a recipe for true competition in the workplace that is sorely lacking in today's business world.

I recently read Bob Spiel's "Flip Your Focus" and could not put it down. What an amazing new outlook on leadership. I could not wait to get back to the office and put his practical leadership actions to work. I found the book to be very inspiring and highly recommend.

I was able to get an advanced screening of this book and it really opened up my eyes on how to be a leader that people actually enjoy following. If you've enjoyed Covey or Gladwell, you'll enjoy Flip Your Focus.As an entrepreneur I haven't had much formal leadership training but this book has been a great primer.It's short at only 140 pages or so. I recommend snagging the Kindle version over the paperwork (That's just personal preference.) But if you like the tactile experience the prime shipping should get it to you in 2 days.

This book presents foundational concepts that run contrary to many entrenched business cultures and the classic top-down management methods. However, the examples and truths that Bob Spiel presents, should be seriously considered and hopefully adopted by business owners, CEOs and managers at any level. They owe it to themselves and their employees, to seriously consider how to incorporate these concepts, and to do "things” better.

This is an essential book for business owners. I have implemented several ideas from the book in my oral surgery practice which have made the business much more efficient, and the team more effective.

Should be required reading for any manager or business owner. Showed me, very clearly, what I needed to do better plus, how to do it. This book changed my definition of leadership into a stewardship that fosters employee and customer loyalty. Simply put, my business is better for it.
