So far I’m pretty happy with this gate. We bought it to keep the cats from upstairs. It’s tall enough to keep them from jumping over and not something they can climb on. It’s well constructed and not terrible to put together (I recommend having a helper). We were able to put the banister between the single extension rod and the large extender. It’s also not a terrible eye sore.

It was easy to install even the width was the same at the gap. That made it a little hard to fit into wall protectors I oicked up. I added a touch of leverage and we were good.The latch works fine. Opening it take added effort. It’s not super smooth or easy to apply the force needed to open it at first. It seems to be getting better. I don’t know if that’s me figuring I’d out or it need to be been in.Still, I would buy one again if I ever have the need for a second gate.

You wouldn't think a 7 lb. Miniature Poodle could jump a 31" fence, but sure enough I witnessed it with my own eyes. THIS bad boy is super sleek, easy to assemble and install, sturdy and works perfectly!!! Very happy with our purchase.

I recently purchased this 55.12” Pet Gate and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. Standing tall at over 55 inches, it has proven to be an insurmountable barrier for my foster kittens, who haven’t managed to scale it despite their best efforts. It looks good and is very sturdy. The escape artist cannot get past it. I wish it came in white to match my trim.

This gate was an easy install. I got it to put in my bedroom doorway to give my 14.5 year old senior cat a break from her younger cat brother. The gate by itself is the perfect size for an average doorway. I also have extension pieces so it can fit in my hallway as well. Two additional adjustment screws are provided for more narrow spaces. I switched the top two adjustment screws for the shorter set, so it would fit my doorway; the pieces on the top have a shorter depth than the bottom. There are wall protector pieces provided to slip inbetween the wall and the bolts. They were a little difficult to keep in place while adjusting the gate.The gate is 55 inches high; I am 5' 2" so it comes above my chin. The gate is not difficult to open, but it is heavy and it typically requires both of my hands. I need one to push back the top button and the other to lift the gate upwards to push/pull it open. If my hands are full, I sometimes can use my toes to lift up the gate while using one hand to open the top. The gate can open in both directions; if you open the gate a little more than halfway, you can feel a little adjustment in the gate which will keep the gate open, otherwise, the gate will automatically close after you let go. The gate will definetly keep children and probably dogs contained. Cats will definetly not be able to get through the bars, but over the bars are another story. My younger cat has managed to use the bar as a step to heave himself onto and then proceed to jump over the remaining section of the gate, so I sometimes still need to close my door to keep him out (see attached photo).

My daughter moved back home with her 2 cats one of which doesn't get along with my big girl. Had 3 baby gates on the basement stairs and her cat(being small) was able to find a way up! this gate is the best! Put it up today and her cat can't get under or over it! OMG wish I had ordered this instead of the others!! Guess a yard sale in the spring will help get some of the expense back in my pocket.

The installation was a bit confusing and took some time. After that my kids kept tripping on the bottom I wouldn’t say it’s very safe..
