You get more than what you pay for.
I bought this hood because I wanted a stand alone hood in black stainless for less than $1,000, and this is perfect for all of those reasons. I have installed several vent-a-hood liners in hoods that I have built for other people, but I hated to spend the money on one for my house. I took a chance on this one because of the brand recognition and price, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. It's only a 6' duct, so it's not going to move as much air as some of the bigger units. My only complaint it is really loud on the highest setting. Also, the halogen lights burn hotter than the stovetop underneath. That said, I would highly recommend this hood to anyone.
