I purchased the NYOrtho Abdominal Binder in advance of my hysterectomy and brought it with me to the hospital, and I’m genuinely glad I did. This wrap made an immediate difference! I was able to walk out of the hospital, navigate steps, and then handle a 1.5 hour drive home. That level of mobility right after surgery was impressive, and I truly don’t think I could have done it without the extra support this binder provided. During the first few days at home, I wore it during the day to help manage discomfort and keep everything supported. In my second week, I had two long car rides (about five hours each), and again, this binder made those trips far more tolerable. When I had a small setback in pain and trouble sleeping, I even wore it at night for a few days. The gentle compression helped enough that I could rest more comfortably. I had five incisions across my abdomen, so I wore the binder over my clothing to avoid friction, and that worked perfectly. It wasn’t too hot, it was easy to put on, and it stayed clean without much effort. Even after three weeks of regular use, the Velcro still looks great—no tearing or worn‑out spots. One unexpected benefit: sneezing and coughing. Anyone recovering from abdominal surgery knows how rough those moments can be. This binder provided just enough resistance that I didn’t feel like I was straining my sutures. Overall, this was an incredibly helpful recovery tool. Oh man this was a life saver, what a support this was for me when I had a total hysterectomy. This is such a game changer, if the hospital does not give you one you should get this so you have it right after the surgery, this will help you get in and out of bed way easier and with less pain, as it keeps things contained. Very affordable for what it does. Plus you can use it as support as well

This was one of the best items I purchased for my hysterectomy recovery days. I wore it every day for a good portion of the day for the first week and a half, it really helped the discomfort post surgery. It’s very supportive and fits well. My only complaint is that the fabric is not the most comfortable on bare skin, if texture is an issue you’ll definitely notice.

I just had a hysterectomy 3 days ago. Right before I was put in a wheelchair at discharge from surgery, a nurse slapped one of these abdominal binders on me. My doctor never mentioned getting one prior to surgery to help with post-op pain and comfort, and I only know what a binder is from a nursing background. I’m so grateful they put one on me to remind me of these!! The one from the hospital was a 4 panel, and although it had a padded front which felt nice, I needed something smaller. I’m 5’4”, 125 lbs, and I have a short abdomen. I saw the price and reviews on this one and purchased the 3 panel, 12” one as it was a good value comparable to others that were more expensive but basically the same thing. I got it overnight. I am very pleased with the comfort, and in relief because of the support this binder provides! I was not sure if I would wear it all the time, but after reading some reviews online of women saying they only took theirs off to shower: I figured I’d try wearing it all day, and- I get it now, I don’t want to take mine off! I notice a big difference in pain levels and overall discomfort when I am, and when I am not wearing the binder: It is much more comfortable and I have less pain with the binder on, especially when sleeping. The fit is still a tiny bit big for me at 12”, but the 2 panel may be a bit too small, and I’d rather it be a little too long than not have enough support. It breathes well for a binder, I’m not expecting luxury feel from an abdominal binder, it’s meant to support and it does, and it’s honestly comfortable once you get used to it, kind of like wearing a bra. Putting it on by yourself is pretty easy, just takes some getting used to. Quality Velcro, and it’s machine washable. Going to pop it in the wash today when I take my first shower. I’m so grateful they make these affordable and quality so more people can experience a little more comfort during a painful process. I highly recommended wearing an abdominal binder if you are in a similar situation no matter what kind you purchase, but this one is not a bad choice!

Very nice belt, fits well on a 47" waist. This was a replacement for the one given after a colon surgery. It is very comfortable, and the velcro will not come apart without effort. It washes well, and folds in half if needed. The compression is strong and keeps everything in place very well. I'll purchase another one to have as a back up.

I really like the support this binder gives me but the Velcro wears out fast. That's the reason for 3 stars. I like the support it give me while using it lifting weights, working on construction projects. I have an injured ab muscle and it feel good wearing the binder.

I am so glad I purchased this binder. I had an abdominal hysterectomy and this as a game changer. I have worn it since the surgery for about 8 weeks. I wear it to work since I walk a lot as an Assistant Principal. It helps keep everything still on the inside. I take it off once I am home and I don’t sleep in it anymore. I did probably the first two weeks after the surgery. It has been a game changer and I recommend it to anyone who has to have abdominal surgery.

I purchased this for a triple abdominal surgery recovery. If you are right on the edge of 45” waist, buy the next size up! The smallest size fit me but would be much too tight post-op, so I exchanged for the 45”-60”. It fits much better even though it’s a bit long, it wraps all around me. It offers more flexibility for comfort and as healing happens and bloating decreases. I like that it is adjustable to fit what level of compression I need during each phase of healing. It’s relatively thin for fitting under clothing which I also like. I’d recommend this. I had a very similar one for my first endometriosis excision surgery and it helped so much.

Does the trick. I use it for POTS. I would use it more often but the Velcro is so good that I haven't always got enough energy to put it on or take it off.

Always a fan of Nyortho as used it once before for post-surgery recovery, bought on Amazon as unable to find it in Singapore, glad that I bought it as it was perfect. Will buy more if Amazon can bring back the sale!

I’m my recent review, I forgot to mention that there is a simple way of putting on the Abdominal binder. Another reviewer mentioned that he adjusted it for proper fit, leaving the Velcro in place & then slipped it up over the hips. Works for me really well, haven’t cut off the extra bit as yet (that many complain about). Currently using two small pieces of hook type Velcro to fasten down extra length of binder. Once I have washed it & used it for a while, will cut extra bit off.
