Balance
What makes a yoga teacher a yoga teacher? Is it through teacher training or practice hours? Is it because of their mainstream or social media presence? Perhaps their particular style of flow or their popular retreats to exotic places distinguishes them? For me, a yoga teacher really becomes a yoga teacher when they write a book – when they articulate their yoga vision off the mat. Demonstrating poses, cueing proper breathing, and structuring a flow is valid on-the-mat instruction. Yoga practice, though, calls us to living a life in balance off the mat, too. Author Charlotte Bell takes us on her journey in finding that mindfulness in her life. She offers her experience as a guide for our own physical and spiritual exploration of yoga. If the workout aspect of your typical studio-based practice leaves you sore and sweaty but longing for more, let Bell offer some insight to creating your own sacred space in this ancient teaching. This book is a good place for new yogis who want a guided introduction to yoga philosophy through the author’s personal experience.

I think I like this
I am just now getting into the sutras in the book. She talks a lit about herself in the first part of the book and I am thinking to myself “ why an I reading this book and why do I care about this? “ But then I find how her own personal experience weave in understandings that help me define my own experience. So I am gaining some insights into my own personal experience as I read this. It just takes a while to see it.

Love this book!!
This is one of my favorite yoga books! I read it about once a year and was pleased a few years ago that when I emailed the author I got a very thoughtful response back. This book provides a great overview to beginning your yoga path and great advice on how to live more fully. For me, it has become a sort of reset button and I'm very thankful that I have it to turn to.

A Wonderful Book!
This book is an excellent introduction to Mindful Yoga. Charlotte shares stories and personal insights and links these practices to the 8 Limbs of Yoga in a way that brings them to life enabling you to deepen your practice and in my opinion, you will return to it time and time again. I have also included it as required reading for my Therapeutic Mindful Hatha Yoga Teacher training course.

It's ok!
Interesting but I don't feel I have learned a great deal out of it. I will certainly put in a book bin of my neighbourhood and hope someone else will read it and feel better about him/herself.
