The most consistent camera I have owned
I had to try one, and I am glad that I did. This camera stays on and produces quality pictures without constant battery drain.

weak customer service, 4 stars.
Poor customer service is one of my complaints. Not seen on Amazon is the availability of a solar recharging panel. This was discovered by me in one of their booklets. I called their number and got through. I was lucky to get through as I discovered later. The women told me that I can buy a solar panel to keep rechargeable batteries strong indefinitely but I cannot use rechargeables alone. They get too weak too fast. So without the panel I will go through 4 D batteries several times a year if I leave the unit out for 365 days as I do. I asked for the price and she said $70.00 and $10 shipping. I promptly ordered it 8/14. I got the camera earlier Aug. 2019. In a week and a half later I called to see what happened to my solar panel order. Well I got put on hold twice and was told I was 8 or 9 in line. I gave up waiting so long and wrote to the email address as they recommend. They don't update you as to your order as Amazon does. A day went by and I got an email that my panel was back ordered and I will receive it in the middle to the end of Sept. When the hell were they going to tell me if I had not asked????? So now, Sept. 1, I am burning D batteries waiting for my rechargeable kit. Also, retrieving the SD card is a pain. You have to unscrew a bolt on the bottom of the camera that has an annoying ring that catches to get out the SD card and then you have to re- screw it in with pressure so the threads catch. The ring catches a lot. This camera is a little complicated as compared to the Chinese made cams. I had to read the directions twice. On a good note, the pixs are great day and night. While installing, the armed camera took a picture of the sky with clouds and 2 hawks up high very clearly. The night shots were good also. I love the mount that screws to a tree. You can take the camera out of this mount just by lifting it out. This is real good for getting the SD card out and in. The cam will go back into this mount exactly as it was and take pictures at the same angle. I will provide an update after I finally get my solar panel and more shots .Update. If your unit is exposed to sun, expect the lense to fog up and you will get no night shots. The company is great about sending me a replacement and it installs easy. I am again, having night shots not come through. Now I think it is a bad SD card. The solar panel is helping me save on batteries.

Decent Cameras But Poor Customer Service
I have owned many Cuddeback cameras over the years. They usually die at the year and a half to two year mark. Cuddeback started offering a two year warranty if you registered your camera online. Now that an SD card reader has gone out on my camera at the year and a half mark, somehow Cuddeback says that I didn't register this particular camera. (I purchased five cameras and registered them all!) In addition, Cuddeback says that the SD card reader repair wouldn't be covered under the warranty anyway. Cuddeback has lost a customer today.

Old Technology, There’s Better
These cameras appear to be old technology. There are no viewing screens so you have to plow through an inconvenient menu system to see how many files are on the SD card. These cameras are HEAVY with a “genius” connector that is anything but smart, (I bought two of these). I wish I had bought two newer cameras with better features, these might be fine for the cell link if you just want pics, but these units clearly take a back seat as stand alone nature cameras.
