Safe and Secure
We purchased this carrier because of the high safety ratings and European standards. We love it. I’ve seen reviews on it being hard to use the release handle but we haven’t had trouble with it. The base took a little time to get in but it was our first baby so we had to watch some videos. The seat is easy to get on and off base, works great with our peg perego travel stroller (bought extra attachment) and is easy to clean. We’ve had one accident in it and just took cushion out to wash and did great!

Safe and comfortable
I love this car seat, it is safe, easy to use and looks great, plus doesn’t weigh a ton.I just returned from Europe where I had rented a car plus baby seat, I hated that seat, it was not holding him safely on the shoulders and was pinching his legs, the Peg Perego is comfortable for my baby and keeps him in place, he always falls asleep in it.I also love that the seat grows with your baby, you can adjust weight and remove padding as he grows. I highly recommend this chair

Love
Love this car seat! When this car seat is sitting next to others..it’s so much more fashionable!! I also love the car seat base and the added protection. Also in love with how far down I can pull the sun canopy compared to the older models. Love and would recommend to anyone!!

Good quality, a few tips though
We purchased this car seat because it came highly recommended from a safety and convenience standpoint. We have been happy with it but I do have a few comments. First of all, the instructions for installing the base were incredibly misleading. It says to tighten and then adjust for baby's weight. This isn't entirely true and it resulted in my husband snapping off the knob and it being stuck on the wrong weight setting. I called customer service and they told me we should have tightened it part way, then adjusted the weight level and then fully tightened it. Nowhere did it explain this in the directions or online anywhere. Luckily they sent replacement parts that were extremely easy to fix. Second, the top doesn't extend down 100%. It's further than most but there's still an area that is uncovered. Overall it's a very high quality and we paired it with a city jogger stroller and they work well together.

We absolutely love this seat
We absolutely love this seat! Our daughter has a medical condition and we have to be very careful to not let her get hunched over, like often happens in these infant seats with newborns, as we have to be very careful not to obstruct her airway in any way. When I saw this seat in store with the 2 stage cushion that made the seat lift up more than any I’d ever seen (so her butt doesn’t sink so she bends in half - it’s mkre like a cradled position) we knew it was what we needed, and it’s done exactly that. As the manual says, it keeps her head and neck in proper alignment, and therefore her airway. The base was not difficult at all to install in our Dodge Durango. We have another child in the back so baby was positioned outboard behind the driver. Also because of her medical concern, we have to be very careful about germs. The canopy is amazing for this purpose. If we do take her in public we can close the canopy all the way. It comes right above her feet. I saw a comment about it not closing 100% of the way, I’m not sure why you would want it to do that but it closes more than any other seat I’ve personally ever seen on the market and completely covers baby except for her toes. For our purposes and for the features we got with this seat, it has 100% been worth every penny. I purchased in Amazon vs in store because I was able to use my registry completion discount on it but this brand was ineligible for any discount or coupon at Buy Buy Baby.

Great car seat! Beware of tipping potential!
I really like almost everything about this car seat but as others have mentioned, it tips backwards super easily which is my reasoning for 4 stars. The handle can serve as a “kickstand” of sorts if you position it all the way back behind the seat but when setting the seat down, we are extra cautious to be sure we do not set it on an elevated surface (chair, table, couch etc.). At a doctor’s appointment, I brought my baby in, placed the car seat on a chair to get her out more easily (not having to bend down to the ground postpartum) and once I took her out and moved, the seat immediately flipped backwards. I understand the nature of the seat and did then but I was still shocked at how “back heavy” it is. Obviously, it tipping back while a baby is in it on the floor won’t hurt them, just scare them if anything, but off any other surface, there is actual danger.Positives are the ease of installing the seat to the base and the weight of the car seat. I had no problem carrying her postpartum whereas our Maxi Cosi from our first baby seemed much more cumbersome. We have a Sienna and it fits in the captain seat of the second row well but we had a hard time getting the base to level for a sub 7 pound baby. Our baby was born at 36 weeks (and weighed 6 lbs) so she was lighter than we expected and the incline of the seat in the car made it tough to adjust the base for a small baby. That was a car problem, not a car seat problem, just something we ran into to be mindful of. After a couple weeks, she was up to 7 lbs and really, we didn’t notice her position once in the base to be a problem before that.I don’t think the look of this seat is as sleek or modern as some other brands (uppa or nuna) but the safety features are great and before deciding on Peg Perego we were told at a local baby store that it would be the car seat they would personally buy because of how solid the seat and base are in terms of safety. Before buying the car seat, we purchased the Team stroller on a killer deal and I wanted a car seat that would fit the stroller. Peg Perego seats are the only ones that work since there are no adapters available. So the stroller made our decision for us and all that said, we are happy with it!
