well written and nicely brings out not only the character of the writer but also his assessment of well known people in the film world . I read this book during my train journey by Satapdi express from Chennai to Bengaluru and back . The book was so absorbing that I never felt the passage of time through the journey both waysThe book also gives a good insight into the challenges and other intricacies involved in film direction and other activities in producing films

Honest
Felt like karan was actually sitting in front of me and talking to me .. I liked the colloquial feel of the book .. and by the end of the book I actually felt I know him now ... I have read so many autobiographies.. this one is definitely worth a read for its honesty .. I wish he writes another one after 10 years . This one was such an easy read and relatable that I finished it in 2 sittings .

it seems that Karan Johar has revealed many secrets of his life. He has expressed his thoughts in this book than his biography. Karan Johar has written everything from his point of view. I was eager to read about a little girl in Kuch Kuch hota hai, but he has not mentioned a single word about that girl. Overall it is a good book. Many things we should learn from Karan Johar.

Major Editing Required
The book is in the form of a monologue and seemed highly obnoxious...Karan Johar is undoubtedly talented but in no way humble, which he thinks he is. I gave 3 stars to the book because the author describes Bollywood business and behind the scenes of DDLJ, Kuch kuch hota hai and K3G. Also his equation with SRK and everyone else important in his life seemed interesting to read. However, the book seemed entirely irrelevant because much of him is out on his interviews and social media. Also, the book is repetitive and long on some occasions. An Unsuitable Boy is overall entertaining but uneventful...

Highly recommend!
Worth reading. It’s a different take on Karan Johar’s Life, loved it!!!We know he is a good speaker but this book will give you an insight of his deep understanding of life which spills beyond Bollywood. In my opinion, he was a typical Bollywood kid and a brat and I had no respect for him, I even hated his films (typical NRI mindset :-) ) but, now I see him through a different prism!

Great read if you are a 90s Bollywood fan
If you grew up watching Bollywood films of the 90s and just love films like DDLJ and K3G, you will love this book. If you like Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra or Shahrukh Khan, you will love this book. If these names and acronyms don't mean anything to you pass this one.

A diary or a book? Nevertheless a decent read.
While the content has some good moments, it feels like you are reading somebody's diary. Writing does not flow well and there are also several repetitions. Book could have been 20-30% shorter if edited properly. I do appreciate the author's willingness to share the details that are usually frown upon by the Indian society. This is a good attempt which could have been better if a stronger team of editors edited the book.

A good read
Never loved Karan Johar larger than life movies but this autobiography is just awesome. A good one to read. Once you get into it, you know that there's no lie or show offs... its just his life. I'm born in the same year & day as Karan Johar, only 3 months difference. I know what he's telling about & what he has gone through born in those days. Simple English, no exaggeration, no show offs - nothing. He is what he is & thats what he's written here. I'm not that fond of Celebrity Autobiography. The only autobiography I enjoyed in my life was Nirod C Chowdhury's 'Autobiography of an unknown indian'... but this one is a lighter one & enjoyable one. The end part is a bit pakao, I mean, a bit boring though! Who's interested in SRK, Kajol or Rani's life man!

A book to relate to. Deep, thoughtful, enjoyable
This book was quite enjoyable. Greatly detailed about the industry. I felt that Karan went off on a tangent some times through the book making it feel like his directly speaking through his book which was great. I gave it a four as a large part of it was quite repetitive and some areas where repeated quite a few times. I chose to read this book as its good research to know how a successful individuals journey began and the reasons for where they are now. I'm quite intrigued to find that most of his emotions I could relate to as i too have had an independent journey of my own career. Iv enjoyed it more so because iv been able to relate to certain emotions as well as learning amazing tips on dealing with certain situations that have lingered in my head trying to find a resting place for some time. When we see people like karan on tv usually we do not think about the deep side of their lives all we see is what is in front of us the glitz and glamour. This book was so real about so many events and emotions that such biographies often help the standard person through certain journeys of their own. Regardless of fame after all we are all just human and pretty much the same.Enjoyable read I would recommend to everyone and anyone. His been very selective about what he speaks about of course his not going to say everything but so far what he has spoken about is worth a read. :)

An apt title A suitable boy
Enjoyed the book. If you know Karen Johar through his coffee with Kazan show you absolutely feel see and hear him in the book. It felt like he was just having a chat/conversation with you. The whole story was so nicely presented.

Must read! A book which takes you into karans life but also gives an insight into bollywood
What can i say, i love karan johar even more!Without knowing the ins and outs of karans life he always came across to me as a vibrant fun loving guy but after reading this book i have a new level of respect for this man and a hugh warmth towards him. This man has been through lots of obstacles but still has a smile on his face and entertains the audience with his witty sense of humour.

The book is a good read - some of the things we already know from his interviews! Otherwise, if you’re a Karan Johar fan, you will enjoy it very much, and you get to know more about him as a person!
