This growing media consists of 10mm coco husk chips which are widely regarded by professionals as the perfect media for growing orchids. Coco husk chips retain air, moisture and nutrients for the roots to draw on as require and the fibres ensure moisture and nutrients are spread throughout the media. (*Coco husk chip cannot be graded perfectly to size. The average size chip will be about 10mm). We are always looking at ways to be more environmentally friendly, so for that reason we are no longer using full colour labels, as we used to in the past, and we use recycled packaging materials where possible. We also use our website for digital copies of instruction sheets and help & support videos. The E-Coco Team

Good compost.. tricky to repot
Bought to repot an orchid after it flowered. The small pot is a little tight so got this to move it on to something just a little larger. I’m sure I read orchids like a little constraint but mine was getting silly.Repotting is a blooming tough job though! 🌱 The roots don’t hold onto the soil/bark and it’s more of a layering roots and compost job. There’s a good few YouTube videos that help.

Very high TDS
Be careful! Bought this as it said it is clean, but soak in RO water for hour TDS, read 750ppm, after a few hours the liquid shows heavy tannin. Washed it 4 times with RO water and left it each time overnight, reading now at 325ppm. Still much too strong for delicate orchids. I am sure product itself will be a good compost eventually, but still needs a lot more removal of the salts, before I would risk it on an expensive orchid, beware!

Ok
Never used orchid compost before and first time at re potting two orchids, the more established orchid seems to like the compost more, easy to use, but soak in boiling water before you use it
