5 Inch HDMI LCD(A) 800x480 High Resolution for Raspberry Pi 2 Model B / Raspberry Pi Model B / B / A / Raspberry Pi 3 Model B

after a bit of tinkering and updating my pi this screen works really well the picture quality is excellent and the touch screen part is ok but i tend to use a key board through wi fi after updating the pi things might have to be reset but persist with it it is a great screen at a great price.

I decided to buy this 5 inch screen with the built in HDMI connection as the 4inch Makibes didn't perform as well as I had hoped for a retroPie project. This screen very nearly worked right out of the box. I didn't bother to use their disk image (which comes on a CD/DVD - who owns a dvd drive these days?!) but only needed to edit /boot/config.txt to add the following details: hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=87 hdmi_cvt=800 480 60 6 0 0 0 Screen isn't the brightest i've seen, but it's crisp and has a good refresh rate. Viewing angle is also somewhat limited in the vertical axis (when the screen is horizontal) but really it's a very good quality screen.

Slightly larger than the Pi, the screen is perfect for coding my Arduino on the go. Setup was a dream (although I did not try to setup the touch function yet). All good + excellent & fast seller (good packaging, received it in France w/o damage).

Item itself is great, however you either only want this item because you use raspbian and are comfortable with Linux, or you have another Linux distro and are an expert. The included 'image' which is supposed to make installing the display painless, DOES NOT WORK, so you will soon be learning command line whether you want to or not. A good product but I would be overstating the level of support if I called it 'minimal'. I bought this, and a Raspberry Pi 3, for my young son as I want him to learn more about electronics and coding and the instructions and software provided almost ruined his interest in both. If I was doing this again I would opt for an 'official' alternative, if only to safeguard any aspiring student's enthusiasm.

I received this product with a crack on its screen. Also it doesn't work with my Raspberry Pi Model B. I can't find any email to contact for the problems I had with this product.

Screen delivered on time and it works, instructions are acceptable though the software for the touch interface is missing.

Great display for my Raspberry Pi. Very clear to see the small writing and the touch screen is adequate for my needs. The HDMI adapter is great as it makes it very neat-looking. The screen is also useful, as, if the touch screen is not required, it can be used to attach any HMDI unit, (eg a DVD player etc)

Ordered it to use on a Raspberry Pi 3. Needed to do some digging on the Web to find how to get it all working (including touch screen) with the latest Raspbian, but it now works great!

Geliefert wurde das Display in einer sehr stabilen, auf das empfindliche Gerät sehr ordentlich zugeschnittenen Verpackung. Ich habe einen Raspi 3 angeschlossen und testweise Ubuntu Mate und Windows 10 laufen lassen; die native Displayauflösung liess sich in beiden Fällen in der config.txt einstellen. Nur den Treiber für die Touch-Funktion konnte ich (noch) nicht installieren. Das auf der DVD mitgelieferte Raspbian-Image ist aber fertig konfiguriert und auch hinreichend aktuell. Im Vergleich zu anderen Raspi-Displays macht dieses in Bezug auf die mechanische Verbindung (GPIO + HDMI-Brücke) mit dem Minicomputer einen sehr durchdachten und stabilen Eindruck! Auch die Stromversorgung beider Geräte über nur einen Micro-USB-Anschluss gefiel mir sehr gut. Wenn man dann per Bluetooth eine Tastatur und Maus anschließt, sind bis auf die Stromversorgung keine weiteren Kabel erforderlich.

C'est l'écran idéal pour le Raspberry pi , il utilise peu de lignes de port mais le connecteur DVI !!! Facile a mettre en oeuvre et utilisable de suite sans fastidieuse installation , fourni avec le CD ( doc , système Raspbian et librairies ). Comme tous les produits vendus sous la marque Makibes , produit de qualité a un prix mini . 100% satisfait de cet achat.

Como buen Españolito le enchufé esta pantalla a la raspberry, le puse la imagen para raspberry de la SD que viene en el DVD que traía y perfecto!. Luego intenté lo mismo en otra versión de raspbian y como no tenía las opciones correctas parecía que la pantalla se hubiese roto: rallas muy raras por la pantalla que parecen como cuando se estropea una TV LCD... pero eso, leyendo un poco las instrucciones ya ves claramente que hay modificar un poco el archivo de arranque del Linux y YATÁ. Excelente calidad. El touch funciona muy bien en el escritorio de Linux, en modo texto lógicamente no se puede esperar que haga algo... aunque en el Mame es como si pulsases el ENTER (toques donde toques la pantalla, jeje)...

Il prodotto si presenta in una confezione semplice ma curata, di facile installazione e di funzionamento piu che soddisfacente. buona la luminosita e la precisione del touch, che funziona ovviamente solo via connettore raspberry e non via hdmi. Sono soddisfatto ringrazio e saluto

Buon prodotto, abbastanza semplice da installare (anche grazie al software ed ai manuali spediti in allegato) e dalla buona visibilità. E' probabile che ne prenda ancora. Nota: nel caso di utilizzo con Raspberry pi 1 mod.B le due porte HDMI non sono in corrispondenza e quindi non si può utilizzare il connettore fornito, ma un cavo a parte.
