We all love to be entertained, and Charlotte Moss, Entertains does just that in the grandest of ways. Photographs stunning in the manner of describing an evening at home, a luncheon on the terrace, traditions steeped in elegance; each page filled with luscious colorful photographs that inspire. Ms. Moss is able to create classic taste, with the placement of a flower here and there. A boxwood in a simple container. This book provides ideas in motion, clarity of what mix of table settings, china, table linens, will transform a simple affair into a pleasure which guest and ourselves alike will recall long after they pass. Ms. Moss touches on the social doyenne of the past. Bunny Mellon, Jacqueline Kennedy, Pauline de Rothschild, Lesley Blanch, Marjorie Merriweather Post, Elsie de Wolfe and others who possessed their own style beyond the expected. There is not a page in this wonderful book that is not captivating. Rather you entertain or prefer to indulge in the beauty of what Charlotte Moss does with incredible style and taste, this book is a treasure. Today we miss the elegance of a simple breakfast tray in bed, a room service morning, the beauty of a place card. Charlotte Moss Entertains brings all this and so much more to us in this book. Beautiful Rooms, beautiful grounds, beautiful people, who entertain beautifully.

Charlotte Moss’ latest book is, as always, full of great ideas, beautiful photos, and well-told stories. Quite enjoyable, but also practical and fun!

As the first review, I would like to recommend this wonderful entertainment book by Charlotte Moss. She has written many design books and they all contain beautiful pictorials with great information, no exception on this book. One thing to remember when buying this book, it is not a cookbook. Charlotte Moss is a designer, not a chef. With summer coming, I recommend a perfect companion, "Dinner on the Grounds", which is filled with recipes and ideas for outdoor dining. Entertains, Celebrations...glad I purchased it.

This is a beautiful book filled with lovely ideas! I have a feeling Ms. Moss has a large staff to help her, so I am not sure how many of these settings I would be able to replicate or even come close to replicating...

Love this beautiful book and the ideas for combining floral arrangements with dishes and table linens. As for rating it, the menu ideas were a nice touch but recipes would have been a great addition for those who enjoy cooking as well as decorating. Photos of guests could have been eliminated as it does nothing for the reader. Resource page should provide the item and page number for the company listed as do most magazines, but, overall, I will enjoy this book and would give it as a gift.

Beautiful photos; wonderfully written! Interesting, great uses of multiple china patterns, vases, linens, stationary = a delight on every page!

More of the same. Expected more from Charlotte Moss, whose work I really admire.

Have just spent several hours in the shade of the trees in my garden enjoying every word and picture in this sumptuous volume. Fair enough - there is not a lot to read and you won’t learn anything new but the pictures and stories are quite captivating and certainly inspiring. Highly recommended.
