Artifacts Volume 1 (ARTIFACTS TP)

Very Good!
The artwork in this Title so far is fantastic, the storyline is very good to add to that.Having not read any of the other Top Cow universe titles im glad that this Trade Paperback also included issue #0, this was a good addition as it introduces all the main characters and settles you in when you flick through the pages of issue 1 and so forth.I will most likely be buying Artifacts Volume 2.

Great stuff.
A very good begin to a wonderful series, the art of Michael Broussard is simply the best in the series so far. Vol 1 is highly recommended.

Cover creased
The cover was creased which spoilt my reading enjoyment slightly along with some other spine crease which made it look like the book wasn't brand new.Book arrived quickly though...

Brilliant for any Top Cow beginners.
I haven't really had much to do with the Top Cow universe in the past. I've played the Darkness video game but never read the comic books. Here, Ron Marz does an amazing job of filling you in on who the main players in this story are, what they bring to the comic book and if they are one of the good guys or bad.The story is great. From the very beginning its gripping, compelling and feels like it is constantly going somewhere. Paired with the art work, this is a stunning book that by the end of the first volume, you'll be wondering why every comic doesn't look this good. The writing style is also as good. I didn't feel like I was being told what was going on which is one of my pets hates about a comic. Its a fine line between holding the readers hand and explaining who and what everything is. As mentioned, this is done very well and clues you in just enough so you can wrap yourself in the world that is the Top Cow universe. This isn't as dark as I was expecting either which is a good thing. I normally stick to my Marvel and DC but this is a great story with great artwork and one that is not to be missed.Overall, this is a great place for a Top Cow beginner to sink their teeth into what could be a long and happy relationship. Its a great story with equally impressive artwork and one that I believe is a fantastic read.

when i was younger i used to watch witchblade and loved it, as i grew up i found out it was a comic and read some of them, one day i randomly found some rapture comics in a books store for like 25p and was in aw at the story and the artistry i collected all the paper comics then found the graphic novel was on here, i knew about the darkness and when it came out as a game i had to play it and subsequently brought some of those as well, i fell in love with top cow and how gritty, dirty, and real they where no of this colourful happy stuff like dc/marvel don't get me wrong love them both but top cow is where its at, this... this one is king it brings the whole story together some of the best characters from the tow cow universe in one gritty show down between good an evil the fate of the world hangs on these 13 artefacts and i'm hanging on the edge of my seat till i can read the next one, the story in my view is solid, the art is good not as good as good as witchblade, darkness, rapture but it does it justice any fan of a good comic or top would be lucky to have this on there shelf

Fun powered up monster/gore with the highest of stakes.
No reflection upon the seller. The stories are kind of true about the poor construction of these Artifact comics. The Cover was literally hanging off the spine (double side sticky tape is my friend). Then again I still prefer the physical tactile feel of reading/looking at a paper comic book. Digital comics lack the full comic book experience (imo). The art work is very colorful and quite cool to look at in most places. This first volume is kind of wham bam thank you ma'am. It doesn't mess around introducing characters and the clearly defined stakes. Zero confusion so thank the stars. The comic has a "suspicious amount of women" (pop culture YT in joke). A ratio of 2 to 1 if anyone is interested, but they all hot so.Noob to comics really and so far my opinion on superhero comics is the same as Hancocks. So am always looking for something a bit different from superhero stuff. Like edgy sci-fi and/or monster/gore runs (like Dredd stuff). Artifact seems to fit the monster/gore bill for sure.Picking up Artifacts volume 2,3 & 4 from a local comic book dealer I started at volume 2 and I was totally lost. Volume 1 sets up everything very important leading into volume 2.Oh and I didn’t even realise until reading this links up to a video game series called the The Darkness. I thought the first game was fun, but the second not so much.

Excellent Graphic Novel
Top Cow's Artifacts began as a series that was going to change the universe of all the artifacts bearers. Great collection of the first issues. Must read for fans of Witchblade and The Darkness.

Very good comic!
Excelent begining for an epic story! this Top Cow crossover seems to be very interesting. The downsides are the binding: 5 minutes after I started reading the pages started to fall apartArt is ok, not much fan of Broussard, but helps to make a dark atmosphere.I allready read Tom Judge, witchblade, darkness and broken trinity. Don't know if a new reader would understand everythingvery recommended for top cow fans

Iffy Bindings.
The only thing that distracts me from putting it in the like ratings is a chunk of it fell off the spine through normal handling on the 3rd day since delivery.Otherwise its a pretty cool story, esp for those who wandered off the Darkness title for awhile cause of art/ story wise.
