Must have for all DIY auto mechanics
I bought this after 6 months of struggling to remove various rusted nuts and bolts from my 2002 Landcruiser that I'm in the process of restoring after years of brutal winters and salt corrosion from northeast winters. I only wish i had discovered this sooner. I had been using a propane torch to heat up the rusted bolts, but there are plenty of areas that are simply not amenable to a flame (near gas lines, rubber bushings, plastic components, etc). I never even knew such a tool existed until 2 weeks ago! I opted for this more expensive higher wattage induction unit, but it has been worth every penny. There is no heat conducted to any non-metal part and no spread beyond the immediate area being heated. It's truly amazing. It heats up a nut in 30-60 seconds and has an instant effect. I've been using it for a week now and it has held up extremely well. I've now also used it successfully on a 2nd car to replace seized bolts on 2010 Volvo lower control arm/ball joint and it was a breeze to remove them after 30 seconds of heating with this. Would highly recommend this to anyone needing to do similar automotive work, and retire the propane torch for good!

Good alternative for helping to remove stuck fasteners.
Heats bolts up to glowing red in mere seconds, less than a minute to heat bearing hub on my garden tiller to remove stuck wheels. The induction heating wires are handy (a couple are pre-formed coils to use to heat bolt heads, and 2 are for free-form bending for odd uses like axle shafts, hard to reach nuts, and so on. There are sturdier units for more than twice the cost, but unless you are a heavy user this is more than enough for the home repair use. Definitely a good value.

Works great on steel and iron fittings.
Works really well on rusted steel bolts and nuts. Heats up quickly. Does not work on copper pipes for brazing or soldering. Safe to use. No flame.

This thing rocks
This thing is awesome way safer and quicker than a torch. The flexibility of the rods make this thing a no loose situation, useful for many applications

Heats ferrous metals
Bigger than I expected, but did what we needed it to do.

Must-have for any mechanic ,
It would be cool if it had a main on-off switch. Otherwise, it works. It's worked on every bolt, and it heats the bolt quickly.

Very robust product, very versatile and comes well stocked with lots of heater elements
I bought this rather expensive product to help with restoring my VERY RUSTY truck. I am very pleased with the performance and capability of how it can convert the rust into dust and release the stuck bolts from my rusty truck frame. These bolts had been in the wet for 23 years on salty roads, so there are no worse conditions to challenge this equipment. Some of the bolts were snapped off in the hole with two layers of 1/8" steel plate with a nut welded inside the second layer and that nut was rusted on to the snapped off bolt! Add to that a tight and limited access due to being inside the rear leaf spring arch, and near the gas tank, so this tool is a MUST HAVE for anyone trying not to blow themselves up with an open flame near the gas tank or burn some vital wiring or plastic parts. The tool will turn any exposed bolts red hot in about 30 seconds which softens the rust like magic. You may still need to weld a nut on the exposed end of the snapped off bolt to get a grip on what's available, and for that, I would recommend a MIG welder with some .035" wire to get a good bite for the nut to twist the stub out of the hole. The kit is furnished with two extra-long wire electrodes that can be bent into any needed shape for best access, and I have used them both! I would not have a chance of making any progress on this rusty truck without this induction heater at 1500 watts- packs quite a punch! Nice padded carrying case and very simple to use! Just DO IT!

Got it a few months ago and finally needed it. Glad I had it.
Had a shock with rusted on nut it wouldn't move and started to round off. I put this on it for maybe 30 seconds, tried it again and came right off. Much easier than using a torch and not needing to worry about melting wires near the workpiece.
