well written
I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were interesting and the plot kept me guessing until the end. Will definitely read the next in the series.

Loved the story ❤️
Alright, so firstly, I absolutely loved the story. The twist was good.Possible spoilers ahead, so read at your own risk.Regarding the FMC, for someone who was supposed to be this bad assed pirate, I found it annoying that she was so reckless and had no sensible forethought for her actions. Like, you're starved, injured, and in pain. Why wouldn't you wait to heal and regroup and plan out your escape properly after thoroughly assessing the situation? It just made her feel stupid to me. Also, I can't be the only one who rolled their eyes at the repetitive, "The only man I loved" crap. The MMC was understandable. In terms of his giving up after 100 years of failure. Like I totally get that he was over the whole thing. It must have been exhausting and soul crushing to have lost 99 brides before the FMC. So I cut him some slack. Imagine it took him 100 years b4 giving up. That's a lot. He lasted a lot longer than many would have.So boxes ticked are:1. Enemies to lovers2. Touch her and die.3. Found family (kinda quick imo)4. Magical girl5. Spice was okay, I guess. It could have been more steamy.Altogether, it was a good story, and now I'm off to book 2!

Amazing Romantasy, great read!
Angelina Steffort has delivered a book that checks all the boxes, a great fantasy story, romance, and twists that will leave you unable to put this book down. Stefforts writing has an ease and draws you in effortlessly, whilst having some familiarity with a retelling of Beauty and the Beast - this is one of the better fairytale retellings, coming with a more mature tone that sets it apart.Ayna and Myron both carry trauma and have complexity within them, which Steffort explores throughout the whole book, unwrapping page by page. Tied in with some political intrigue and the world of the Crows, Wings of Ink becomes more than just a simple fairytale.Ultimately, an amazing romantasy that will keep you turning the pages again and again, well worth a read if this is your genre!

Gets better towards the middle-end
I really wanted to love this book but honestly, it’s just decent.I liked Ayna’s attitude at first but as the book continued on I found her endless questions to be extremely annoying. The first half of the book is mainly her asking, “Why?” (Not even exaggerating!) and then constantly feeling guilty while also making herself the victim. It was odd too because she would say she wanted to do things for herself but then do hardly anything unless it was involving somebody else helping her. When the romance finally started rolling around I feel it didn’t really build up it was kind of like “I hate him!” One moment and the next she was all into him.The romance scenes aren’t the best either, could’ve been written more in depth. The king was a good character, I felt his attitude made sense but I do wish he had a bit more courage especially in certain parts of the book, I just felt he was a bit weak for a king. The good part about this book was the actual plot of the story, the backgrounds of the characters overall, etc. The end of this book was probably the most entertaining part of it.Still giving this a chance and hoping the 2nd book is better.

Couldn’t put it down
This book was fantastic (I do suggest to read the prequel first), it was a wild ride and I can’t wait for it to continue. It sucks you right it, you feel the turmoil and devastation so thoroughly from our MC Ayna. The heartache and pain she’s gone through just to be thrown into the fairylands with the Crows and they’re king, makes you feel so deeply for her. But she soon realizes that not everything is black and white, not everything is as it seems it should be. She discovers there’s a curse not only preventing the crows from speaking about it, but physically hurting them if they even try. She begins to care for the few crows that show her compassion and Ayna slowly realizes that she’s falling for King Myron, but fails to admit it until it’s almost too late. This is such an amazing Beauty and the Beast retelling and I’m impatiently waiting for the sequel to release! I absolutely recommend this book and all of the world of Alcunaire that Steffort has created.

good easy read
Good but a little wordy at times. It’s a solid book with a Beaty and the beast retelling and mild spice. Easy read. The ending wasn’t really necessary imo but it allows a second book but this could have been a hea. I kind of wish we could have gotten the MMC pov more as well. I suspect that’s book 2 .

Beauty and the Beast Reimagined
With an author who takes pleasure to writing, the story was grasping at my mind and heart from the beginning. Not even till chapter five was I telling those who love to read as much as I do to start reading this one.My favorite Disney Princess is Belle. A strong mind, knows what she wants and to do what she could to protect her family.Ayna was Belle. Except so much different.I was intrigued by how strong Ayna was and that the author wrote the Crows as monsters but there were some that truly showed the good side to beings that are cursed. It’s beyond fantastic to read a book that not only has a great flow to the book, great build up of character development, but also can use a thesaurus to find better words that made me feel different than just the normal romance/action books I read. I had to take my time to read to understand. Which is what we want. We don’t want a simple story to read.Angelina J. Steffort truly inspired a new tale of Beauty and the Beast and showed that Ayna was not just going to stand by even though she was a prisoner.

Love this!
With so many paranormal romance books around now, it can take a while a find a good, well written book with a decent story that isn't only about the steam on every page. THIS IS ONE! Love the story, the characters and can't wait for the next one. Brilliant writing and an author I'll be reading more of.

Frustrating but still good
I’m mad at this book , it took me days to finish it, I couldn’t even DNF , I don’t even know why , I wanted to know , even if I already knew .. I mean , Beauty and the Beast retelling.. couldn’t be more simple to guess what will happen than that !Everything was there to be great, but the endless inner monologues of the FMC were repetitive and some scenes were weird phrasing .. I had a hard time picturing it in my head .. she cried until late in the book over « the only man she loved » and i wasn’t there for that ..I liked the MMC , but his screen time was a bit superficial, not much dialogues or moments .. and I missed that. Some scenes were really good , where the emotions were well written (especially in the intimate ones) but other scenes made me disengage too easily..The end and epilogue were nice , and i want to read the sequel because of them.Would I recommend it ? Probably notWould I read the sequel ? Yes

Unexpected
Angelina J. Steffort has me memorized. She dropped me into a whole new world, Eherea. Anya and Myron are complex, beautiful characters. I cannot wait for book 2! Magical and spicy.

Brave meets Beauty and the Beast
What an epic tale of love and found purpose. The telling from Ayna and Myrons perspective waves a brilliant fantasy tale of love and hope. Friendship found and lost, rife with betrayel and intrigue.Wolayna connected deep with her hurts, bit the growth in herself is beautifully portrayed and brought to fullness in the final twist.
