Please Note: Numbers advertised represent the average package content. In our drive to offer the most competitive prices possible and to maximise efficiencies, many small items are weighed rather than counted e.g. 100 x 4 inch plant labels or 300 x jiffy pellets etc. For the most part this method is successful and delivers the accurate number, however on occasion actual numbers received may be plus or minus a small amount. In this situation we will not be able to send any perceived missing items or expect any to be returned.

Bought as an experiment and really easy to useI soaked them in the sink first till they plumped up then put them in a seed tray and put a seed in the top of eachAs soon as the seeds got big enough I just put the plug into a pot to grow onYou need to keep watering so the don't dry out

No need to sow seeds in trays again!
You know how it goes, compost in the trays, maybe sieved, sprinkle seeds, prick them out etc.But these are a godsend. Each disk expands to a two inch high column of coconut coir. Make a hole, pop in the seed and wait. No need to transplant to bigger pots, just stick the whole thing in the soil with no damage caused to the roots. I've bought hundreds of these.By the way, when showing them, I tend to do about ten a time, staggering them. You should get forty plugs to a standard seed tray.

Easy to use, effective and time saving seed growing pellets.
I plant most of my veg from seeds and it can be fiddly and time consuming - and tiring as you fill your 100th pot with compost. These little jiffy pellets are brilliant. I place them in a tray - I save plastic blueberry or fruit trays from supermarkets and fit about 8-10 in each so they’re nice and stable and easy to label and keep together. Fill the tray with water and go and have a potter or a cuppa . The pellets will have ballooned in a few minutes and just place one seed or even 2, depending on what you’re growing, and wait for them to sprout. Them either put them into the prepared bed, straw bale, or planter you’re going to use filled with soil, and job done. Really good and clean to use. They will just be one part of the soil or compost. And sowing this way, means little or no root disturbance. I doubt if they do for beans or legumes etc that have long roots, but work well for most veg, herbs and flowers. Very good product. I use it as a back up or when I’m a bit rushed or tired but you could just use these if you only wanted to grow a few plants .

Really soaks up water
Couldn't believe how much water was absorbed. Had to squeeze them before sowing seeds. Did so ok and next day they dried a bit. Perhaps some instructions would have helped. Now I wait to see germination success (or failure).
