good companion to the maker's diet book
we got this because it said it had meal plans and recipes. it has the exact same recipes as the regular maker's diet book. was hoping for something more/different. however, i believe it's still worth getting because it has a full meal plan schedule for the full 40 days. not just four days of each phase like the regular maker's diet book. that really is the best feature.

Great book. Well written, best 'eat right and why' book I've ever read.
I have read and tried many diets in my life (49).The biblically based book of personal experience, research and recovery explains what to eat and why and what not to eat and why. As well as advice on exercising, mental health, relaxation and personal hygiene.Its a win win book. If you are looking for the 'right' way to eat and why you need to get this book.I have recommended it to all my friends and like so many have been bombarded with diets per say.This is more than just that, its a way of life.Jordan Rubin explains in detail why certain foods we should and shouldn't eat. He explains how our body works and how these foods work against or for us.I have been so enlightened. I got the book he specifically wrote on IBS and sent it to my mother who has suffered from this for over 15 yeas. She read it and has applied just some of his advice and feels better already! She is totally impressed with his book as well. She has begun to read this one as well and is finding even more information to follow and she is 83 years old. It's never too late folks.

like others stated, if you have the makers diet you do not need this. the shopping list is a copy/paste of the foods to enjoy. it does have recipes for all 40 days , 3 meals, so if you do not know how to cook or want other recipe ideas w/ the foods you can eat than its worth it but other wise do not buy. I did a quick skim and I think there are more food choices in the recipes but a lot of them I think if you do not live in a good market you may not even find the food in your local grocery store. but you really don't need the shoppers guide if you have the makers diet book.

Finally the TRUTH
I have consulted a nutritionist and a naturopathic physician over the years and researched every eating plan under the sun. I always believed that God had everything here for us that we need for good health since he created us to begin with. When I read the Maker's diet it all came together for me. Certain supplements are recommended since our environment has been so washed out of nutrients. I consulted my naturopath to request a good raw probiotic and she sent me "Garden of Life" raw probiotic for women. The product line produced by the Maker's diet! My search for the right eating plan is over:)

The Maker's Diet buying guide
I ordered this book because I wanted an additional copy of a book I already have entitled The Maker's Diet by Jordan Rubin. I was initially very disappointed because it is not the complete book at all, just a shopping guide. I do find it useful; it includes some pruchasing guides and recipes not included in the original book, but I was disappointed. I should have read the smaller print on the book cover.

Good elimination diet
We have not tried the diet yet, but it seems like a good idea. The recipes are sparse, especially for family's with picky eaters. Some of the recipes are also not written out very well and if I didn't cook a lot already I would have a very hard time following them. It also requires a lot of extra money to be spent on supplements and vitamins. However, with all that said, it's an easy to follow elimination diet that I can see being very useful to help areas of health that we often complain the most about.

Helps You Stay on Target
What's great about the already set meal plans is that you just follow what it tells you. The recipes are in the back and though it's not thoroughly detailed, I like how it does give you the freedom to add something here or cook it a bit longer there. It's keeping me on track and I love it! I agree with a previous review in that, this book is all you need vs. the original...unless you want to know Jordan's story & Before & After photos.

I liked the quick reference. I already have the full makers diet book which has been well used.
