The Mysterious Disappearance of Mr. Darcy: A Darcy & Elizabeth Pride & Prejudice Variation

A thoroughly engaging story!
Kelly Miller’s Regency Romance Pride and Prejudice variations are always popular, and this book will be one to add to existing fans’ libraries and make new fans.In this tale, Elizabeth and Darcy are happily married and Elizabeth is being introduced to the (dubious) joys of the London season and members of the ton. She’s doing fine, until Darcy disappears, leading to a wave of gossip and innuendo, some of which is a bit too close to the bone for comfort. Distraught, suddenly uncertain of the truth of Darcy’s love for her, Elizabeth determines to get to the bottom of the matter and to carry on with head held high.Ms Miller does a wonderful job playing with the familiar characters, in a way I’m sure Ms Austen would have found delightful and amusing. The thoroughly engaging story keeps you locked to the pages as you scratch your head to try and make sense of it all. New characters make their way into Elizabeth’s life, and household, and she must navigate seeming friendships which may not be to her advantage, and deal strongly with scheming family members who definitely don’t have her interests at heart.I very much enjoyed Elizabeth’s character – beset by completely normal doubts but not giving in to them. No fainting heroine this! Darcy is, well, just yummy, and how could we possibly believe ill of him? Yet, evidence is there …A short and enjoyable read, just the thing to take you away from real life and plunge you into the splendour and politics of Regency gentry.

Intriguing and wonderful!
I especially loved this strong Elizabeth, coping with some devious people, including a relative of Darcy. Plus being unsure who she could trust while worrying about Darcy and protecting Georgiana. I couldn’t put it down and look forward to reading it again. Loved it 🥰🥰🥰

Darcy and Lizzy meet in Ramsgate.
Most of the characters in the story are intelligent so this story is unlike any other I’ve read. Darcy has worked for the equivalent of MI6 or the CIA so the book is about what that means for he and Lizzy. Very fun. Since most everyone is more intelligent than a twit, the bad guys are quite a bit better being bad than someone like Wickham. We see that early in the story.I recommend the story highly but since some of the plot is a mystery this might be a read once book.

Gothic goodness
A delicious mixture of regency romance with gothic mystery in this delightful variation inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice by Kelly Miller. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.

So good. I wouldn't be surprised if this one won an award too
I absolutely adored the courtship between Elizabeth and Darcy. Then suddenly there's lies, gossip, scandal, and Darcy's missing. I couldn't put it down and despite what the gossips say he's exactly the sort of man you want him to be.I received an arc copy but gave no promise of a review.
