Very good, just make sure you fit them as i describe or you will be applying lots of force and may damage them or your ceiling.
Been looking ages to change the spot lights in the bathroom but the hole was too big for modern ones. I bought these with little expectation of them being good, I am glad to be corrected. They really smartened up the ceiling and even covered the old fashioned finger molded artex circle around the rim of the original hole the old lights went into. They also come with fitting for direct mains lights or transformer lights but no transformer which is fine as i already had the original which works fine and used the same bulbs which were only a month old. The only thing that took a minute or two was to figure out fitting it into the hole. The instructions do not have pictures but could have been written better. Once assembled, if you try and fit it with the center piece already attached to the outer disk i.e. the completed look as in the picture, you will be using too much force and may break it. Its designed for you to first place the large outer disk to the ceiling and whilst holding that in place, fit the middle disk into that. This way it clicks into the outer disk whilst at the same time securing the whole assembly to the ceiling, very easy with very little effort. Do not try and fit it all in one as you would have to bend back the springs beyond their design and may break it.

Looks good but beware .....
We wanted to replace our halogen screw fitting downlighter with a GU10 bulb but the hole was too large. We found this on Amazon and encouraged by Knightsbridge being a British company we bought it. The packaging was good but the instructions are hopeless - not one diagram, only text! But we found a diagram on their website but even that did not make it clear how the clip holds the fitting into the larger hole. No matter, we worked it out and it looks really good. BUT when we came to fit the bulb, the retaining spring ring which holds the bulbs in the holder wouldn't work. After some investigation it became apparent that the GU10 LED bulbs we have (which fit our other kitchen downlighters perfectly) have a different profile which stops them fitting correctly into the trim ring (see photo). A phone call to Knightsbridge elicited the information that they had only tested it with their own LED bulbs! and they cost £10 for one bulb! I have now ordered another make of LED bulb and hopefully that will be OK. If not then it'll be back to a halogen bulb. So potentially a great product but let down by insufficient testing using different LED bulbs. A slight tweak to the design would make it perfect.

Excellent Product
Quality item with very prompt delivery. We needed these as we have a lath and plaster ceiling which had started to flake around the original spots. Initially brought one to see if the idea would work. It definitely cured the issue and also looks very classy so have now ordered more for the rest of my spots.

Covers but doesn't clip into a 120mm hole :-(
Horrendous instructions to follow, found a YouTube video that showed how to do it.No instruction on which wire goes into which block, we went with one way and crossed our fingers as we turned the power back on.Says that it converts upto 120mm holes,it may cover them but the clips aren't big enough to hold it in place. Had to leave outer ring of previous lights in place and clip the new one into them which kinda defeats the whole idea of the kit.

Do it yourself !
I was quoted £210 by an electrician to install these fittings but decided to order them and install myself ! I have no experience in this department and found assembly of the flat pack very easy after I had worked out how to install the spring ! The instructions would be better with a couple of diagrams, but I found the best way was to insert one of the round holes in the spring into one of the arms of the H (as they describe it ) then squeezing the other hole on the opposite side of the spring into the other arm ! After about the sixth fitting ( I have eleven ) I became quite an expert and was taking the old fitting down, assembling the new fitting and fixing it to the roof in just over five minutes ! By doing this job myself I saved myself £100 !!!!

Very pleased with the results
Fitted 4 within 90 minutes. They come with the 12v socket already wired in so I had to remove this and screw in the 250v rated socket instead due to me using mains rated LED bulbs. I wired the assembled fitting directly into the mains and it works perfectly. If you plan to use 12v LEDs, you will require a transformer which is not supplied. Well built and is of a good quality.

Problems with some GU10 LEDs
A clever piece of kit. Not all GU10 LEDs fit however as their diameters are slightly bigger than the hole in the centre section. Perfect for tungsten so needs a little larger hole these days.

An Economical Way to Convert R80 Downlighters to LED
Very pleased with the neat look, covering the 110mm holes easily without appearing 'bulky'. The instructions aren't the best but the lamps are simple enough to assemble. Ordering from Bamford's was smooth and trouble free with a reassuring email to ensure all was well.
