Comprehensive look at the history of Corvette Quarter-mile cars
This book (8 1/2" x 11" with 192 pages, perfect bound) by Steve Holmes fills in some gaps in my understanding of the Corvette's role in the Quarter-mile. It's filled with information and images, many in color, that should satisfy even the most discriminating drag-racing and/or Corvette fan. The book starts with a pretty decent history of the iconic Vette, getting into its racing heritage about a quarter way through. The remainder of the book provides many details of iconic races, racers and Vette quarter-mile cars. I found sections riveting and breezed through the book fairly quickly - I intend to go back and peruse it more thoroughly.Full disclosure, I was given this book via LibraryThing's Early Reader Program.

superb resource
Finally a Corvette book that doesn't rehash the Grand Sport fable or bore us with might have been if only...blah, blah. This is real history with period photos, bios of the important players, and a thorough record of what the Vette accomplished in the era 1953-1975. Just reading the photo captions will maintain your interest but don't skip the excellent history Steve Holmes has woven together. This is a book for those who want real history not second guesses about what might have been.

Fun and informative Corvette history
I have loved Corvettes since I was a child and this book is fabulous for anyone also interested. Tons of photos, many in color, tons of drag strip history and lots of info on competitors. So much fun with so many great photos and historical info! Lots of detail, research involved. A very thorough look at the topic.
