Poorly designed connections
I had high expectation for this 200$ skidplate. The material is awesome, and I love the paint color/look. That is the positive. The negatives1) the elbow bracket that goes on the front is not bent at the proper angle, forcing your front bolt to have to be put in cockeyed.(I had seen this on other bikes as well and thought the mechanic must be lousy, but no, it is a manufacturer design error.I could see that as being a tricky part, but the next two mistakes are ridiculous.2) the bolts they provide to mount the skidplate to the bike are about 1/8-3/16" too long Ng, so they run into your frame without ever being tight, even with the provided washers. We has to cut the bolts they provided to fit and properly secure the bottom of the skidplate.(How do you get the bolt length wrong when you are mass producing a highly expensive part with only 3 bolts?)So all the bolt connection points have a problem.3) Both of those two points were not my biggest concern. My biggest concern is the clearance they left on the right side.If I were to go over a log and have the weight of the bike on the skidplate, if their questionable front elbow bracket gives at all, the skidplate could push upward and make contact with my crankcase or crankcase bolts. (Maybe 1mm clearance)Whereas if I had no skidplate at all, I could cross the same log with the glare frame of the bike grinding over the log, and no risk of contact of metal to metal on my crankcase/engine.They should have made the right side 1" shorter at the bottom and left decent clearance between skidplate and crankcase.Again, the material, paint, and look is great.I am not impressed by the brains that designed this.

Solid skid plate
Solid skid plate. Mild steel, good welds. The corners look like it will protect the caseings if it went down. No t-rex design though but I don't mind. No Instructions so here is where I mounted the bracket. Hope it helps. 4 stars because It hasn't been tested against a rock yet. Will update when that time comes.
