My favorite feature about this baby helmet is the fact that it is GOTS certified. This is an extremely important factor because GOTS certified means that the least amount of chemicals were used to create this product. The helmet is going on top of my baby’s head, so the fact that his head is not going to absorb a bunch of chemicals and other toxins gives me a sense of relief. The helmet fits perfectly on his small head. There are two little animal ears that poke up from the helmet. This is an adorable little touch; he looks so cute walking around with it. There is a strap that goes underneath his chin and velcro is used to secure it in place. The strap does a decent job of keeping the helmet on his head, although he has ripped it off his head a few times. My son doesn’t enjoy wearing the helmet, but he also doesn’t enjoy wearing hats or sunglasses either. I’ve tried to slowly get him more used to wearing it by giving him praise when I put the helmet on him. The padding is not overly thick, but just enough to provide some protection in the event of a fall. The helmet doesn’t have any harsh chemical smells. The padding over the forehead goes down further and protects more of his face than other helmets I have used in the past. He has fallen a couple of times with the helmet and it did help soften the blow.

Our daughter is almost one year old and she is a busy girl, she tries to pull up and climb up on everything within her reach so we were worried about her getting hurt. She has already fallen several times on our hardwood floors and luckily she hasn’t been seriously injured! This protective head gear is very soft and comfortable on her head so she doesn’t seem to mind wearing it. It’s thickly padded and still breathable. It’s not the cutest thing to wear but it’s well worth it to keep her safe! We can give her a little more freedom to roam around the house with it on and she likes that. I wish it had a little bit more protection under her chin area because I am nervous when she’s walking around the coffee table.

Our baby has started teething and earning to crawl, so this headgear is so perfect for him! Because of teething he moves his head back and forth to soothe and I was always worried hel bang his head on the floor when he’s soothing himself on all fours, now he can soothe and lay his head son a cushiony support whenever he wants! I wasn’t sure if this headgear would bother him or if he’d let me keep it on but it seems comfortable enough for him to have on for a while in the day and not bother him! The inside material also has a texture grip but still manages to stay soft so I’m happy with the way this has been designed.The ears are so cute! And when I show him his reflection in the mirror he seems to love looking liken a cute teddy bear! Very happy with this material, easy to wash, easy to use and very soft.

Build quality:The helmet is well made. The material is good quality and provides good ventilation and cooling (no sweating). The velcro adjustments are stable and work well.Fit:This helmet fits a 9 mo old well. The hemet width provides room for growth as well as the chin strap. The chip strap can move up and down on the loop that goes around the hear which helps in positioning it.Use:This has thick padding and provides good protection. Like any head covering our baby tries to remove it at first but with enough distraction we were able to get him to wear it and he seemed comfortable in it. The fact that it is very lightweight seemed to help.CoverageThe helmet fits low on the back of the head and covers the lowerback of the head as well as the top portion (that would typically be covered by a hat).Final thoughtsThis is a good helmet that we recommend.

Most of these helmets just tie under the chin like a bonnet but this one goes around ears from two directions and under the chin, which I hope means they are a bit safer about keeping the helmet on and avoid having the string choking the child. I would still only use them with observation. I am glad the way this is designed to vent heat.
