The vise itself is sturdy, nicely weighted. It feels well made and durable considering it's $300-$700 cheaper than the well known GRS brand. If you can afford the GRS, get it. But if you are a starving artist like me, it is well worth the savings.The attachments aren't perfect but work. The main jaw attachment is designed in such a way that it twists off if not careful. The one side only has one peg so it rotates the jaw piece but it can be worked with.I have set 2 rings with it thus far and I'm pleased. Obviously I don't know what I'm missing not having a GRS but I have found being happy with what you have makes a huge difference in your attitude overall.I would purchase this brand over other generics mostly bc they are more established.

i purchased this vise prob 3 days after i bought the official grs tools one. i debated which to get bc in my exp with tools, it's better to buy the more quality one thats more expensive than to buy the cheaper one twice or threee times... But when i ordered from grs they said it was on backorder and it would take a month and a half to get it. turns out it took almost 3 months to show up. meanwhile i got this one for way less price and honestly it's almost just as good. i would suggest start with this one. cuz your gona want the acccessories that it comes with, i didnt get that with the grs, and you can use the acccesories on this one and the grs, but not the other.. the grs came with two adjustment tools and fit a little better but not enought to make a difference.also the finish is being worn away by my hand from turning it, which hasnt happened wth the grs. so the finish is slightly better but its alost polished patina look, doesn't look that bad and doesnt efffect the vice performance. ive also bought the microscope from vevor and it's also good quality and better price. if your trying to decide, dont waste ur money on grs at least as far as the vise goes. imo

This is a good deal for the money, but it does need some work before it is ready to use. As others have said the three holes in the vise jaws vary in size, location, and depth. The attatchments that come with it are largely useless due to the poor fit caused by these holes. I fixed mine by drilling out these holes using a sharp 5/16" end mill in a milling machine. The jaws are not easy to drill, and might have a casehardening treatment. They did cut with a HSS mill, but it took a bit of effort. While I was doing this I also cleaned up the top and face of the jaws.A few hours work left a useful vise. The attatchments can not be used without modification now of course, but it is easy to make new pins and accessories if you have some basic machining capability. In short, this is a good value if you have some machining capabilities, or know someone who can help you out. If not, I would look elsewhere.

VEVOR engraving vise (pin vise): My unit arrived with a GRS logo on a plastic button next to the jaws. Not being familiar with GRS equipment, I won't comment on workmanship except to say that this vise seemed to be well machined and assembled with very good satin-chrome and polished-chrome finish, and no burrs or marks. All accessory tooling fit as was intended and the action of the jaws was as smooth as can be expected. There was some catch and rub when rotating the upper half of the ball but because the entire ball may be rotated to any angle on the (nylon? delrin?) base, I don't consider that to be important. In use the two halves will be locked together.One of the features which I appreciate about the product is the set of tapped holes in the jaws and the cap screws to fit them included with the unit. You can create your own specialized jigs of wood, plastic, aluminum, etc. for whatever you work on. There are a couple of low-temp, moldable, reusable plastic products which are sold for this purpose. This device is heavy enough (around four pounds) that it will be stable for light assembly and glue jobs by itself; and there's an even heavier version available.If I were a professional engraver, things I would ask for would be the ability to lock the ball in position on the base and to screw the base to a work table. The rotatable upper half-ball would then make more sense to me. As it is though, the product is useful for anyone having to hold small and/or delicate items while working on them; and at its price point, good value.

Theirs a reason why it's cheaper and that's because it's cheaply made. Arrived in 1 day, packed well. Knew right away this wasn't for precision work. Holes to hold attachments were rusted, I thought ok I can clean that up. Tried the screw in holders and they just grabbed and wouldn't go any further I knew if I used the allen wrench either the screw or the hole threads would strip. I then tried the other accessories, they didn't fit well and wobbled way too much, the jaws also wobbled. It did spin ok but when adjusting the brake it would not hold and kept loosening up. Might be a good buy if your just messing around but for precision work it just doesn't cut it. I'm sending it back tomorrow and will spend the money for a professional block, you get what you pay for.

Pins supplied were too loose. Also discovered the holes in the 2 jaws are not the same size. The holes in one jaw being smaller than those in the opposing jaw. Accessory kit is totaly useless as a result. I used shish kabab sticks, sanded down, to hold work. I don't do jewelry work so I'm fine with that. Very dissappointed with the pins but the ball and vice operation is fine.

I’ve never owned a GRS vise, but I can’t imagine it being much better than this one. Spins smooth, the accessories fit properly, and it holds work pieces securely. I’m pretty sure this came out of the same factory as the GRS vise. Even has a spot cut out where the GRS logo would go. Great budget alternative to an expensive vise.

It works well. The quality was good for this set price.

I love this vise. I have been using it pretty much everyday. I am a professional jeweller and it makes setting stones a breeze. Good quality , great price , just as good as the more expensive ones. I like that it fully spins and you can lock it in place too if you like. It’s heavy so it doesn’t move on you either.

Ball has oil on it so watch out picking it up, it's heavier than it seems, j dropped it twice just a few inches.. Screw mechanism works well. Hole alignment is off a little. Other than that I think it's going to be an ok tool. Comes with 2 bases. Which I was surprised. And the assortment of grippers seem decent and well machined. Got here way faster than the delivery date as well. We will see how well it holds it's grip and position. Tbc

J’ai retourné le premier étau parce qu’il manquait un pin à l’étau qui serre mon serti en place lorsque je travaille, amazone on retourne un deuxième, je comprends maintenant pourquoi il manquait une pièce dans la boîte……dans celle que j’ai reçu pour l’étau qui retient le serti et un autre bidule que je n’ai pas encore étudié l’utilité les pins de métal ne tiennent pas en place donc il y a un jeu lors du sertissage pas commode …….je suis à me demander si je retourne pour une deuxième fois ou si je trouve un moyen de corriger le problème ..,,,déçu de la qu’élites du produit car l’idée est excellent pour avoir une facilité d’accès tout autour du serti donc je donne un 2 désolée je vais voir avec amazone si je retourne ou pas
