AQUACEL(R) Ag Hydrofiber Dressing with Silver is a silver-powered antimicrobial dressing that is "gentle on the outside, ferocious on the inside." It offers the unique gelling properties of Hydrofiber technology to gel on contact with the wound fluid creating a large fluid-absorption capacity. AQUACEL Ag locks bacteria within the gelled AQUACEL(r) Ag fibers away from the wound bed. It is indicated for use on acute and chronic wounds including burns, surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and leg ulcers. Sold here by the individual dressing.

Scam!!
The advertising is EXTREMELY misleading!!!! They show a box of 10 in the picture. You have to expend the text to see it say, "(by the Each)".Really?!? By the each, I would not have know what that meant until I received the one little pack. I've gotten aquacell ag ribbon in packs of 5 for less than $20.00 so it wasn't a case of thinking this was too good to be true.

Amazing dressing for split thickness wounds
First, know that this dressing, when it includes silver, Ag, is quite expensive. It is amazingly effective at promoting healing, however. You can also cut it into pieces and get more than one dressing from each pad. My single pad purchase didn't come with any instructions. I later bought a box of 5, however, and it had detailed instructions included in the box. So, if yours doesn't have instructions look them up online. They are important. Each pad will last for many days if you keep it hydrated with saline and keep the dressing water tight. I covered mine with a Telfa pad, then plastic wrap, then wrapped it all with gauze. If you don't make it somewhat water tight, however, the liquid evaporates within 12 hours and the dressing ends up looking like a piece of dried seaweed. You can make saline at home by boiling some water and adding a tsp of salt to a cup of this water. The salt packets included with sinus rinse kits will also work. Once it cools, place the Aquacel on your wound and drip saline on it until it is full. I used an eye dropped. It will have a gel-like appearance when it's full. If you keep it fairly water tight the same dressing can be used for many days. They say many weeks in the instructions although I never tried for that length of time. This dressing absorbs serous fluid but also provides a moist environment that appears to promote healing. The silver is an effective antibacterial which is a plus. I'm not exactly sure of the theory behind this but my partial thickness wound epithelialized within a few days once I got the hang of it. It was impressive. So, while it took me awhile to figure out how to use these dressings effectively, in the end it appears to have helped immensely with healing a split thickness injury. Highly recommended!

Deceptive Picture
Deceptive advertising, picture shows a box of 10. Way overpriced and arrived crushed.

Great product. Saved my foot from amputation. Only use the Ag if there’s any risk of infection.
Great product for wounds that are difficult to heal. Be sure you get the AquaCell Ag. Ag is the element abbreviation for silver. This has silver powder woven into the pads. Silver and gold are both excellent anti biologicals. There is another type of AquaCell that is called “EXTRA”. There’s nothing extra about it. It is no better than a thick gauze pad and many sellers are trying to pass it off as this Ag product. It’s the silver that keeps the microbes from reproducing in the wound and can even cause gangrene. I know it’s expensive. 140.00 for ten pads but you can cut them to the size you need and maybe get two or even four uses out of each pad. Some sellers are asking over 20.00 each for the plain EXTRA pads. Simply a scam.

Item Display Misleading
Product is as described but a bit disappointing in the way it was labeled, of course you see 10 on the box & not the print above that says "each", I would not have ordered had I just saw one piece, I saw 10 & thought what a deal.

Deceptive Photo
BEWARE!! The photo made it seem like the product is a box of 10 ct. In reality, you receive only 1 of these dressings, individually wrapped. OVERPRICED for just 1 of these.

Severe injury to the bone
Very expensive for almost $20.00 for 1 padVery disappointed . I have a very severe injury on one of my legs and was bleeding out and my at home nursing is almost over. I have to change the dressing every other other day, sometimes more. Where can I get the pads at a cheaper rate. My injury went to the bone.

Great product, lesson well learned.
I am disappointed that I only received two products for the money that I’ve had to spend to get it. I have learned in this experience that we must pay close attention to all factors when purchasing products. The product over all is great and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The vendor selling the product was efficient and reliable in sending my goods in a timely fashion. I’m a tad disappointed mostly in myself for not paying attention to detail and I do value the lesson learned here. I guess I was just so excited seeing the picture I just had to get it.
