A big Mondaine that looks great and loves the planet
If you want a large Mondaine, but don't want to pay Evo Big prices, then this is a more than acceptable replacement. The only real difference is the case material, which is traditionally steel but on this watch is a composite material, kind of like a plastic, that you absolutely do not need to worry about looking or feeling cheap - at a glance you'd not notice at all, and even on closer inspection it has a nice, slightly patterned matt look to it which works well with the simplicity of the watch's look. And of course, you can always mention the eco-credentials if anyone scoffs at the lack of steel! It's light on the wrist due to the materials used, which is nice, and means you can wear this watch all the time, including sleep, without really noticing it. Thanks to the white face and simple, black hands, it's very easy to read in both bright and low light conditions.I personally don't like rubber straps, but it's easy enough to swap that out for any other strap you want - it has 20mm wide lugs so replacements are easy to come by.Thanks to the minimalist Mondaine design language, this watch is subtle enough for everyday use, yet refined enough to be worn as a dress watch, especially if you swap out the strap to suit - I favour Nato straps which makes swapping them out extremely simple. There's no real downsides to this watch. One minor concern is that the glass sits ever so slightly above the rim of the case itself, potentially exposing it to chipping or scratching...however I've worn this watch pretty much constantly since purchase, in all manner of activities, and it's yet to get a mark on it.

I returned as it had a sharp rubber loop
I wanted to like it and it has that cool railway hands going for it. After a couple of hours wear though, it was digging into me. Looking at it, the loop of rubber that holds the strap in place when on just diggs into me and making a nice dent. Shame really.

Love it.
Wanted this watch for ages, but too expensive. This year decided to go for it. I went for the 41 cm, even though l am a female and have a small wrist...as l find modern watches difficult to see the time. It's fashionable and the clock face fills me whole wrist. Only had a while, but it seems to keep the time well. Pleased with my present to me !!

Let down by the strap
Got this one primarily as I can tell the time without needing my glasses.. I love the look but it's let down by the supplied strap, which I found quite rigid and difficult to do up securely. Lost the first one after about 6 weeks - I think the strap let go without me noticing - but decided to replace with an identical watch but change the strap for something a little more flexible before wearing it..So far so good..

Very nice watch, easy to read with one glance.Typical Swiss quality, my only negative is that the strap is very stiff, a bit awkard to close, and not very flexible.

Extremely poor quality
I like the dial design, it is iconic, but the implementation here is very very poor - this is like a Swatch but lower quality. The dial looks like it’s paper, the hands are extremely thin, the second hand judders when it ticks, and the whole watch is plastic, including the buckle on the strap. The cardboard box it came in is the highest quality part. Looks like something that came out of a cracker!
