Glazed Ceramic 5 Pcs Japanese Sake Set In Gift Box

This is an OK set for the price. I bought it for a mothers day gift for my wife. Seemed more "authentic" then cheap, but that is coming from a guy in PA who has never been to Japan. Very dusty inside the package (not an airtight seal). It seemed to me the kind of set one might pick up in a tourist trap, not something the locals/restaurants would use. I think if you are considering an inexpensive gift for someone who likes asian things this might be OK, and you have the added benefit of giving them liquor with your gift. I also picked up a sushi serving set and a sushi knife.(the serving set is reviewed elsewhere under my name) I'll put it all in a gift basket with a bottle or two of Sake to complete the gift.this is a good low cost set for the price but mine differed slightly from the picture. The symbol on the cups is completely different from what is shown. I don't speak the language so I have no way to tell you what either say. The ones in the picture seem a little more (gosh IDK) professional? The ones on the set I received were similar in shape/size to the picture, short little pot like handleless cups. The ceramic is white and glazed black with a high gloss finish. However the symbols on my cups are not glazed in the high gloss finish, its a flat translucent paint which lets the ceramic texture through. On the left there is a white space (bare ceramic surface) in the shape of a 3 leaf clover. The center of the image is oh wait, what century do I live in? thats right! I have technology!Just found an app called "CamDictionary Free" and guess what it does, it translates FROM A STINKING PICTURE!i'm so freaking excited right now, I can't even speak.So it says the symbol I am seeing on the set is "dawn or daybreak"Well thats a relief. at least its something cool, too bad I didn't marry a girl named Dawn, man, that would'a been sweet!Anyway, where was I... oh yeah, so white sideways 3 leaf looking clover on the left, large red symbol in the center which translates to dawn, and then a small sideways white heart on the right of the image. You know, the 3 leaf clover petals could be hearts too, its all in how you read into it maybe. Also the black high gloss glaze on the outside continues inside the cup, also different than the product picture which has a red glaze inside the cups. This makes the product seem a little cheap to me, however I only paid 13$ so I really can't complain. If I had to choose between the picture and what I got I would choose the picture but aren't angry enough to flame the seller or try for a refund. Just wanted to warn anyone else. I would still recommend this for the price, and only took off the 2 stars because the pictures set looks cooler. the carrying box it comes in is black cardboard with a clear plastic lid.

I had ordered this item to be a Christmas present but the delivery date kept getting pushed, as a result it did not make it in time. I paid over $11 dollars in shipping and it was still late! Then when it finally arrived the painted design on the set was NOT what was pictured. I meant it for a woman and the design that came was very generic and masculine. I sent not 1 but 2 messages to supplier and was totally ignored. The bottle is nice (aside from the design painted on it). The cups are a nice size but I noticed a flaw inside one of the cups, the finish did not cover inside properly.

They weren't the colors that the picture showed but they're nice enough for the price I paid.

The item was purchased through Amazon.com and shipped quickly, was wrapped appropriately, and was very attractive. I would buy from this seller again in the future.

Great product. Good quality and looks very well.

The set I received had a completely different pattern and different colours. Also the product weight is 1.8lbs including shipping materials, not 6lbs.
