I didn't want this story to end!
WARNING: In the event you don’t want to receive strange bewildering looks from fellow travellers on the London underground, I suggest you don’t read this book in public. If you don’t care about what others think of you... read the book... and laugh out loud! The design of the cover sums up this story beautifully - a light hearted, fun romance to pass a sunny Saturday afternoon with a glass or two of wine! The scenes covering Nando’s (I will never ever be able to think of the Great British Bake-off again without thinking of Trevor and his bulge); Sally the Shetland pony’s owner conversation and the safari park will stay in memory forever. The safari park is probably up there with the Ikea outing with Meg and Honey in Kiki Archer’s last book ‘Lost in the Starlight’, in terms of making me chuckle. All the characters in this book are believable and ordinary (with probably the exception of Trevor!). It's their 'ordinariness' which is so appealing, along with Kiki Archer's ability to draw the reader into a world that is both engaging and welcoming. Who after reading this story wouldn’t want Lauren, Rachel, Trudy and even Jenny as friends? The cover price is the cost of a posh coffee! Buy it today.

As brilliant as always
I will admit that it took me a while to get into this book, the beginning just didn't flow as well as Kiki Archer's other novels. However, I quickly discovered that it was well worth sticking with as it got better and better.A story of a love which one woman, Lauren, feels is completely unrequited, but the object of her love, Rachel, her best friend of 11 years, has secretly been in love with her too all along, but was just afraid to admit it.The relationship the two have, and their witty, easy flowing banter, is utterly delightful. While Rachel is the brilliantly level headed single mum, Lauren is the more adventurous, impetuous and competitive of the pair, her personality leading her into some hilariously excruciating scenes.Lauren's assistant, Trudy, is an equally hilarious and brilliantly written character, one who is so entertaining she is worthy of her own book. All in all, a brilliant read. Let's just hope we don't have to wait quite so long for Kiki's next book!

Kiki Archer Is Like Jane Austen For Moderns!
Kiki Archer wins the ‘universal appeal’ award (again) with her latest book, A Fairy Tale of Possibilities. In her ability to give all women, lesbian or not, a fictional set of circumstances, conflicts and confusions that we can ALL relate to, Kiki Archer is like Jane Austen for Moderns. A Fairytale of Possibilities is the sweetest, most insightful and hottest laugh-out-loud romcom book of the year. The great classic thing about an Archer book is you never know if you’re gonna want a petit four or a petit mort after you finish reading. Her books are that sweet and that sexy. Kiki Archer’s comedic timing has always been wonderful, but she exceeded her highest score with this one. The hilarity is organic. Archer’s got it wrapped up in a tight, taut plotline, some excellent character development and sight gags and dialog to bring it all alive. The secondary characters, as well as Lauren’s work side-kick Trudy, who is Lauren’s own ‘mini me but relentlessly so’, add to the full measure of a fully fleshed out storyline.I loved how the two main characters could move from mad frivolity to grand concepts in between commas! A story, basically, of how one lesbian, in love with her straight best friend for 11 years, owns the lesbian rico suave award with corny one-liners, double entendres and ‘foo paux’ all night long. The women feed off one another, comically at first, and then and then, they take us to new versions of old ideas while infusing the air with endearing, old-timey values in a modern-day love. Lauren is 100% lesbian, and Rachel is Straight. And has a child. And the in-laws of her deceased husband to deal with. But falling in love with a “Straight” woman is its own special subculture of experiences, for both people, and it’s refreshing to see the idiocy, the intelligence and the insight coming from both people. Neither woman can get out of her own way, except when she runs headlong into the other one’s calamitous, touching, hilarious, sensitive persona. And yet, it’s not the one you might think who makes the first definitive move. And yet, yes it is! Archer’s so on point with each character’s inner and outer perspectives. But who are they really? That’s what makes this book so lovely. The two women are remarkably alike in their dissimilarities, and unnervingly dissimilar in how they reveal their mutual admiration society. It almost shouldn’t work. Insecurity, jealousy and cumbersome misunderstandings are matched by moments of such exquisite tenderness and touching exchange that you want them to end up together because their imperfections are a perfect match. Even under stress…maybe especially under stress. Not going to do a spoiler, nope, but let me simply say that if you like your passion strong, your sex rompy, and your couple capable of both orgasmic intensity and rompy pompy pratfalls of ungodly and hysterically bad timing, get yourself this Fairytale of Possibilities. Highly Recommend for a good time!

Once upon a time there was a fabulous author....
Once again Kiki smashed it out of the park with another phenomenal book. True to form the characters are brought to life with Kiki`s skilled penmanship and humour we have come to love.As a fan of Kiki`s books since her first novel it's always a bittersweet moment when a new books come out; excitement that you get to devour the pages and submerge yourself in the well crafted story but sadness knowing once you finish you will have to wait at least a year for the next one.The story is well paced and utterly relatable, the straight friend you'll never tell how you feel, so you settle for friendship while comparing each girl you meet to your "if only" girl. Kiki captures those feelings and displays them on the page echoing your memories with emotion and sarcasm in equal measures. As always the protagonists are likable, flawed and real with the "supporting acts" bringing the laughs. So settle down and open your heart to a fairytale of a read.Note to Author: Next please

Do not try to sneakily read at work
A slightly tilted monitor and the kindle cloud reader taking up only a quarter of the screen is usually enough to have a quiet read of a book when avoiding any real work BUT this book ruined my cover! Squirming and uncontrolled giggles are impossible to hide and even more diffecult to explain. I don't think my co-workers believed I was laughing and smiling at our bosses latest email pun!But if was a decent human being and read this on my own time I would say it was very good! Funny and interesting and I'm a sucker for a "true love" love story! Buy and read (But maybe not at work)
