Note – if you don’t have a locking grease gun coupler, you need to get one. There are a lot of brands, and a big variety with all of them having the same basic mode of operation. Simply put, they make it easy to keep the grease gun coupled to the zerk while you’re adding grease. For those of us who have greased way more zerks than we care to imagine, this can be a real pain sometimes.Some of these have a problem latching on easily, while others don’t provide a good, tight seal and the grease leaks out around the coupler and the zerk. I wanted to put this to kind of an ultimate test – difficult to access and zerks that hadn’t been used for a while but had been exposed to brutal elements. What better place than the front-end steering linkage of my 2001 F-van.Just FYI, for those that don’t know how you attach these, you don’t push them on like a normal coupler. You squeeze the handle(s) to pull the tube back, then push the expanded locking jaws (six on these) over the zerk, push/wobble the coupler until it locks on the zerk, and release the handle(s). It doesn’t take much force, just a little technique and finesse.My name-brand (Amazon doesn’t want me mentioning their name, but you know who it is) coupler works really well, but it only has one lever and for my older hands with a weakened grip, it can be a bit of a pain sometimes. The dual-handled couplers are just easier to use. With an easy squeeze this Samffy coupler opens the locking jaws with ease.This kit also comes with a needle tip that is easily used by attaching the coupler to the zerk of the needle tip and pulling it out of its case. It comes with a zerk cleaner also. Put it on a hex shaft that fits your drill, and push it over the zerk. It pushes in the ball of the zerk which keeps from having that zerk that just won’t pump grease. You can then use the drill to rotate the cleaner to clean the outside of the zerk. A pretty handy device that is a nice addition to this kit. Note, I would still wipe the tip of the zerk free of debris first with an old rag before using the zerk cleaner. Best not to take a chance of pushing debris into whatever you’re greasing.Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Yes, absolutely, especially if you don’t have a locking coupler. The dual-handle coupler of this kit is great. Then, add in the needle tip plus the zerk cleaner. Excellent kit!

It works ok, but definitely not the best for the money. After using it, the pull end handle had worked itself loose and the thing basically fell apart. Easy to reassemble, but still.

I had a need for an economical and easy way to hook up my grease gun end to some tough to reach zerks on a trailer.The end is tapped nicely and it screws onto the a grease hose. No noticeable leaking from the head or the threaded connection.Easy to push onto the zerk, stays put, and doesn't cause a mess. Easy to unclamp and no mess.A much better experience and performance than a standard connector.
